As a child I loved this film! I can vaguely remember going to see it at the cinema when I was eight and I have very fond memories of it. I saw it again a couple of years ago and was not so impressed, that said it’s still a fun film to watch.
A bit of an oddity it was originally intended to mimic the success of Raiders of the Lost Ark released in 1981. After the success of Back to the future the script was altered at a late stage to incorporate a time travel element. All of this goes some way to explain the final car crash of a film!
It does have some really good bits including Peter Cushing’s last performance, some great aerial scenes and an unusual soundtrack including Mötley Crüe and Deep Purple.
The film also makes for some interesting now and then comparisons as London has changed quite significantly in the thirty years since it was made.

You clearly can see the more square looking hips on the right.

Japanese culture amazes me so much. The person who is on a pair of stilt is an Indian woman. And the one who sits there is Caucasian. The photographer (which is silly me) is Chinese. Wow, Japanese culture not only amazes me, but the rest of all of us!!

Comparison of size and proportion~~
Kiki looks to have Lati yellow sized body, SD sized head and possibly having to wear YoSD shoes....
All photos were taken with Canon Ixus 860's, the top photo is just the normal camera and no adjustments made to it.
Centre photo is my Infrared Canon Ixus 860 IS (camera with the infrared blocking filter removed by me!). it has a www.optical-filters.com/og530.html (yellow) filter which I think blocks out the blue end of the spectrum along with some of the greens too. I have made a very slight adjustment in photoshop (curves). In camera White balance is set to custom
The bottom photograph is taken with the same camera as the photo above it with similar settings and a 720nm filter which blocks out most of the visible light.

I think Ange can wear repro-Licca's outfit. This repro Licca is first Licca.
As requested, a comparison of the old and new versions of the model.
I rebuilt the main body from the mid section back to the engine, retextured to remove the awful bump maps, replaced the wings with more accurate versions and lengthened the nose slightly. I lightened the brass plates somewhat as well, based on images of the studio model that I found.
It's by no means a great model, I built it years ago when I first started and I've only spent a couple of hours rebuilding it to get it to an acceptable level. If I get really bored one day I'll go to town on it with detail and custom texture maps, but it's not a priority.

Eye comparison for an iplehouse JID Tatiana. The first is default Iplehouse eyes, 14mm. The second one is dollmore acrylic eyes, 14mm. The third is Pupa Paradise China glass eyes, 12mm.
The last batch from our day out a couple of weeks ago at Andrew's Scenic Acres.
He picked the little one because it was easy to carry back from the pumpkin patch. He couldn't resist comparing it to these pallets of large pumpkins.
