Quick doll body comparison between my new ARAM doll and some of my other 1/6th scale dolls. Hopefully it is helpful to those curious about how her size relates to dolls like Licca, Blythe, etc.
From left to right: Nikki, 2nd generation Licca, ARAM by Atomaru, replica Licca (1st gen headmold), Tiny Betsy McCall, 4th generation Licca (modern), Blythe, Momoko.

For anyone wondering why I didn't toss a Luts Tiny Delf in there, all of mine are centaurs so not really the best for size comparisons when I receive my Hansel from the Halloween event I will take a new comparison picture.
My Wife's Grandmother (Dorothy Wolz), a beautiful soul and an English teacher, used this phrase often with her children. Although I agree that comparisons can be hateful, in this case comparing the size of this adult Burrowing Owl and its freshly caught Deer Mouse perfectly illustrates the scale and the small size of a Burrowing Owl.
My 1:300 LEGO model of the Hall of Liberation in Kelheim, Germany, in comparison to the real building. It is a monument to the Napoleonic Wars built by Friedrich von Gärtner and Leo von Klenze in the 19th century in neoclassical style.
For the round structure I used various technqiues, from SNOTed curved slopes, over simple angled pieces, to round bricks. The main section uses hinged walls, but for easier symmetry it reduces the number of sections from 18 to 16. This is a somewhat significant difference to the original building but made for a much easier and more streamlined design.
The painted block pattern of the facade lent itself well to a relization by plates. Although the recently restored painting of the building is quite a bit lighter, using white instead of tan wouldn't have provided enough contrast to the other white elements and as you can see, the actual colour of the building largely depends on the viewpoint and lighting situation anyway. It's a bit unfortunate, though, that there are no 1x1 plates in nougat yet, as I would have prefered them over medium nougat.
Building instructions and further details can be found on Rebrickable.

So I decided to do a little comparison between the different minifee bodies before I sand the shoulders on my motion line to be more rounded. I hope this helps you guys to have a better chance of deciding which bodies to get if you are new to minifees or may need to add some more to your crew in the future :)
The busts the girls are wearing are Cutie bust, Large bust and Full bust x2. I do have Small bust and Glamour as well as the fairyline boy bust too but I didn't think they were important for the general body overview. This is also not a pose off, just an overall look ^^
Left to right: minifee a-line boy muscle, minifee a-line boy no muscle, minifee motion line boy, minifee moe line boy, minifee fairyline girl, minifee new a-line girl cutie legs, minifee old a-line girl model legs, minifee moe line girl.
I've this girl from buried in oblivion at home, to makeup her soon.
Then I take a picture of her with my MSD girls to let you see her size.
Left to Right :
- Doll chateau Bella
- My dolling HeeAh
- Cerisedolls Constantine
- Elfdoll lovely Dami
- Minifee Chloe
- Minifee Miyu mod
- Buried in Oblivion Skene

Threw a couple extra heads in there -3- (I think I have a problem? orz)
The Witch is most similar to the dragon girl, imo (Malificent anyone?) lol. And The gargoyle definitely has some differences to Rochelle - ear placed conveniently for CAM wigs, eyes smaller and less defined and his skin tone is a touch cooler than Rochelle's. Not sure what I prefer, I really like them both!
(I wiped my Rochelle a while ago, rerooting ruined her first repaint and then I changed my mind about her hair color. Now I'm waiting on her supplies to arrive)
Lately I’ve been editing photos with a big hit of gamma correction, for a grayed-out/antique kind-of look? Not quite sure if I’ll stay with it, but I do think it makes things look more… ☆.~:*aesthetic*:~.☆ ? Anyway, here is a comparison. Gamma correction on the left, edited but no gamma correction on the right.
Earlier I received the new Drax Minifigure by FigFactory and I decided to do a comparison to the official minifigure. Both minifigures are great and overloaded with details. I like the version of FigFactory more than the official version, mainly because the 3D print of the tattoos looks really amazing. If you compare it to the real character it is closer to the original, because the tattoos are very thick and look more raised from Drax's body, so this is really great. Also the dull look in Drax's face is much better captured in the custom version. I also really like the leg details with the knives on either side. The only thing that I like better in the official version are the Lego-like skulls in the tattoo print, because I just love when everything gets minifigureized. :D But you will have to decide what you want to be going for, closer to the original or a more funny print. Overall the custom is fantastic, the digital printing quality is great as usual and the faceprint is very well executed.

For mini girls comparisons see here (one of the line ups is also featuring Withdoll & MNF boy).
I was taking some comparison photos today and then I figured I'd take a line up of my mini boys since I have Yenna's Shige visiting here.
Nothing special 'cause the light was awful... thus the low saturation. Also because three of these boys are hybrids and the awful light really highlighted the differences in their resin colour, so I wouldn't want that to be distracting.
But yeah, from left to right:
- Souldoll Soulkid N.L. boy body with a Bimong Narin N401 head
- Withdoll Aiden (new type boy body)
- DollZone 1/4 boy body (old type) with a Dream of Doll DOC Too head
- Minifee A-line normal boy body with a Dream of Doll DOC Tender Too head
I'll put the side and back view into the comments because I don't want to flood my photostream with these. Since they're not the best quality... perhaps sometime I'll ask Yenna to take better line up photos (read: when I have the energy to drag my boys over there, lol).
Welcome to my second comparison of lenses with a focal length of 35 mm. This time all contenders are more than 50 years old and are equipped with the M42 screw-mount. There are two famous lenses amoung it (Flektogon 2.4/35 and Super-Takumar 3.5/35), two insider tips (Color-Skoparex 2.8/35 and Travegon R 3.5/35) and perhaps a stunner.
Results for the center:
Results for the corner:
Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon MC 2.4/35
Perhaps a Flektogon was the first wide angle lens for SLRs with a retrofocus design, the other suspicious is the Angénieux R1. The first attempt was to put a divergent lens element in front of a well known lens, in that case a Biometar, to obtain a 2.8/35 with a (7/5)-design. In the early seventies the Flektogon was completely redesigned, this time based on a triplet. The new version was cheaper to produce, better and faster, was the first multi-coated lens by CZJ, and it has 6 elements in 6 groups. The lens here has an impressive nearest focus distance of 0.2 m.
Voigländer Color-Skoparex 2.8/35
Made by Rollei in Singapore, belongs to the Voigtländer VSL1 and offers open-aperture-metering with it. It is a (5/5) design by Zeiss and was also available as Distagon with QBM-mount for the Rolleiflex (it is different from the later Distagon for the Contax, which is a (6/6)-design). The Distagon was provided single coated or multi coated (HFT) - I don't know, what the Skoparex is. The lens is from about 1974 and has 6 blades. Another note: the lens has no A/M-switch, but you can close the diaphragm by (carefully!) screw in the tiny set screw next to the aperture pin.
Pentax Auto-Takumar 3.5/35
Clearly the smallest lens of the group. It was produced around 1960. "Auto" means, that the camera automatically closes the aperture via the common pin at the lens mount, but the user has to open it by himself again by pushing the small lever at the f-stop ring, so it is rather "semi-auto". A (5/4)-design with 5 blades.
Pentax Super-Takumar 3.5/35
The same optics like the Auto-Takumar, but in a new outfit: this time with really fully-automatic aperture and with A/M-switch. Usually seen on a Spotmatic.
Enna Lithagon 3.5/35
Certainly the most simple lens in this field. It is based on the 4.5/35 Lithagon, the first retrofocus lens for 35 mm SLRs made in West Germany (1953). The retrofocus effect is achieved by adding a divergent lens element ahead of common lens, so here: the Lithagon has a comparable large front lens element in front of a simple triplet, the result is a (4/4)-design. Also the construction of the lens is simple: full manual aperture setting (even no preset ring) and a rotating front. This combination can by annoying, because you can loose the focus when closing the aperture. 8 blades, the zebra look should be from the late sixties.
A. Schacht Travegon R 3.5/35
Made by a very small manufacturer, but certainly one of the most extravagant lenses of that type which I hold in my hands. The mechanics are extraordinary, the 6 blades sport a ball bearing, the lens has an A/M-switch, a socket for a cable release, and an automatic display for the depth-of-field. The lens was designed by Ludwig Bertele (it's said he designed all lenses of Schacht). As the inventor of the Sonnar Bertele was a master in arranging many lens elements in three groups, so here, the Travegon is a (6/3)-design.
Super Yashinon-R 2.8/35
Perhaps the oldest lens in this field, together with the Auto-Takumar. It was already available for the Yashica Pentaflex around 1960, but then with a bayonet mount. When Yashica switched to the M42 mount with the "J"-series, this lens was carried. It has a preset aperture, 8 blades, a nearest focus distance of 1 m and is a (6/5)-design.
Auto Yashinon DX 2.8/35
The "Auto" indicates an automatic aperture, and there exists also DX-lenses without "Auto" which have a preset aperture then. Contemporary cameras should be the TL and TL Super from the mid-sixties. Those DX lenses were followed by the DS-lenses, rather seen on the TL Elektros. The lens here has an A/M-switch, 6 blades and also an (6/5)-design, and as you can see from the results of this comparison, the design should be very different from the one of the Super Yashinon.

A revamp of Conjurer, a model from the Dark Hunter Contest in 2005; in quite the likeness to the Tracker and his Ice 'Bull-dog' I made two years ago for a BZpower contest.
After narrowing the colour scheme to the one you see, I decided to go for an elegant, pompous and lordly look befitting a 'Dramatic Warrior King Conquerer Genius Magician'.
He does it all, man.
Very, very pleased with how this turned out. All three main colours are of course very limited in variety, so I had to really make good use of what I had.
This is for those who asked me for a size comparison shot of my dolls.
* I added notes with their sizes.
Side-by-side comparison of the Sunrise Models Dodge kit 'out of the box' as the Eastern Scottish example (left) and the lengthened chassis version which was converted from the same original kit as the Fife Scottish version (right).
I am fascinated by comparisons and identifying similarities and differences between dolls. Annik Pop of Color on the right in this comparison and the new Annik 'The Awakening' are SO different they almost look like two different sculpts. I am personally really pleased by this because I don't like to have dolls that look too similar in my collection. One small detail I have noticed, thanks to my friend Bran Beckman’s eagle eye, is that Pop of Color has a very different lip screening to Awakening. Her upper lip is not filled in right to the edge of the sculpt but sits below it while Awakening has a fuller upper lip reaching or even going beyond the sculpt line. Awakening's head had to be made from softer vinyl to enable the braids to be rooted and this seems to have softened the contours of her face while POP's contours are more angular. Again, I really love these differences. They definitely look like sisters to me rather than twins. So happy to have them both!
Just showing a comparison between my LAAT/i (?) and LAAT/c.
Yeah, I know, the Carrier looks so clean and sleek compared to the garbled, battle-hardened infantry variant.

Support the victims of the Typhoon Ondoy. Visit The Philippine National Red Cross
The Philippines was hit last Saturday by Tropical Storm “Ondoy” (international designation "Ketsana"). “Ondoy” has battered Luzon, leaving Metro Manila and 27 provinces in a state of calamity. About 34.1 centimeters of rain fell on Metro Manila in just six hours, close to the 39.2-centimeter average for the entire month of September. The previous record was 33.4 centimeters recorded during a 24-hour period in June 1967. PAGASA claims that the “unusual” amount of rain brought by Ondoy last Saturday could already be a manifestation of climate change
“Ondoy” drew comparison with hurricane “Katrina” which devastated the southern Unites States in New Orleans in August 2005 leaving about 80 percent of the city flooded, killing over 1,800 people and leaving damage estimated at more than $100 billion.
As of Sunday morning, the floods have subsided in many areas, but a number of areas, particularly in Marikina, Pasig, the Camanava area, and parts of Manila and Quezon City, are still under water. As of 11 a.m., the tropical storm has moved on to the South China Sea.
Sadly, two tropical depressions outside the Philippine area of responsibility are again threatening to enter the country this week and are likely to enter Philippine territory late Wednesday or Thursday.
I have no photos to share on the incident as we were also affected by the flooding so I'm leaving you the above photo taken in Manila Bay sometime ago.
