It's the one who always faithfully wake me up every morning.. I don't know what I would do without you.
Just playing with my new lighting set-up. I have always been fascinated by this crystal clock and wanted to play with lighting glass (or crystal in this case)

No tourist around the clock, so I got an unobstructed view to photograph. Google it to see video of the clock in motion
The Anglican church in the village is dedicated to St John and the village and parish are named for the church. Within the church are reserved seats with name plaques for members of both chambers of the Manx parliament, whilst in the adjacent church hall is an exhibition detailing the history of the Tynwald.
We call this lovely flower a clock flower since it has a time, a minute, and a second hands just like a clock~ What do you call this lady?
booyah! Today, I went to a trip to IKEA! (at least, the first time I remember: apparently I had been there before but at an younger age, or so my parents say =)) I went there with my sis who needed stuff to decorated and fill her new place & such and I: I needed a new clock.
Yesterday my clock just failed like *snap* just like that.. How weird is that?! tried replacing batteries but it would not go back to ticking any more, and trust me, my previous clock was supposed to go: tick tick...
Now, Now I have a shiny black one! whoop! it is really neat, and bigger then the old one =) hurrah!

I used an old Canon optical image stabilizer lens [EF-S 17-85mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM] on an EOS 450D DSLR. With exposures of up to a 1/4 of a second, most of the images had to be discarded, and the remainder are very "grainy" / "noisy", but the pictures at least form a sort of record of the event...
Owari clock needs some work. Laquered case pretty loose at all joints, broken trim. Movement dirty and not running.

Once again we have to go through the half-yearly rigmarole of re-setting the clocks. I wish we would have just one time throughout the year. Back in the early seventies this was tried with British Standard Time - which was one hour ahead of GMT. The problem was that winter mornings were pretty dark, especially in the north of Scotland. However, overall road casualties were reduced as the lighter evenings were safer.
Like most people I have so many clocks around the house now - some of which set themselves - and while this one (quaint isn't it) is effected by turning a little wheel inside, others, like the 'phone, require me to find and follow a series of rather complex instructions.
It's still early at Mel's Diner in beautiful downtown Whoa Creek -- nearly midnight, but you knew they're open all night Fridays and Saturdays, right?
