After the British Car Show in Downtown Safety Harbor on Saturday, October 24, 2015, I had the opportunity to photograph both the Safety Harbor Fountain and Clock. These are located at the Veterans Memorial Park at the corner of Bayshore Boulevard and Veterans Memorial Lane.
The fringe is hyperbolic, with wire inside to make it more formable.
The yarn is from my stash but I bought the clock.

Nusretiye Clock Tower, aka Tophane Clock Tower, is a clock tower situated in Tophane, a neighborhood in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey next to Nusretiye Mosque and Tophane Kiosk at the European waterfront of Bosphorus. It was ordered by the Ottoman sultan Abdülmecid I (1823-1861), and constructed by the renowned Ottoman Armenian architect Garabet Amira Balyan in 1848.
Designed in neo-classical style, the four-sided, three-story clock tower is 15 m high. A tughra of Sultan Abdülmecid I is put on above the entrance. The original clock and the clock face are in a state of disrepair. The clock tower along with Nusretiye Mosque and the Tophane Kiosk survived urban renewal and highway construction program mid 1950s. However, it remained within the customs warehouse area of Istanbul Port, cut off from the public access today.
boarduino clock, with 16MHz resonator replaced with 32.768KHz watch crystal, 2x16 lcd, 10k pot for contrast control, and 2n3904 transistor to drive the lcd backlight. by way of contrast a standard boarduino with 16MHz oscillator installed is shown at the top of the picture.
HOOORAAAAY! It's finally done! This is a commissioned peice that only had the requirements of using mauve, turquoise, and a southwestern style. I stretched a 14" x 30" canvas, and for most of it, crumpled up newpaper and glued it to make texture. I painted it with acrylic, and used my scraps of polymer clay for the numbers. (Also painted) When it was all finished, I cut a small hole in the middle, and attached the clock peices. I can't wait to get started on another one! I think I'll be leaving the newspaper unpainted for the next one.

The biggest clock in Europe is in Cergy-Pontoise, the town where I spent two weeks last summer in the home of my French exchange friend, Thomas.
This image depicts my alarm clock in my room and was taken at a time of 4:30 am, as shown on the clock. The context of this photo is that I was up late at night because I couldn't sleep, and it captures my overall desire for more sleep in my life.
This relates to my identity because as a college student, I am usually up late doing homework or studying for exams. I also struggle with sleep issues and falling asleep, which couples my desire for more sleep with my desire to be able to fall asleep earlier in general. In addition, I chose this particular alarm clock because of its features and also its aesthetic. Because I tend to not get enough sleep (again, showing my desire for sleep) I also tend to have a hard time waking up in the morning. This alarm clock came with a device that you can put in your pillow that vibrates to wake you up if you are a deep sleeper like me who sometimes sleeps through their alarms. Aesthetically, it fits the overall grayscale color scheme of my room which is very minimalist with white furniture. Even though one of my desires is more sleep which is symbolized with this alarm clock, the specific alarm clock I chose was a result of advertisers manipulating my desire to lead me to buy the one that had extra features and went with my room.
1-16-08 I'm taking some photos of the things/places I love in my house. I loved how the light was falling onto the mantel this morning so I went with it...This is my current favorite clock and I am really into clocks!

There was this really cool clock I found online that I really wanted for Avi's room, but it was like $60 bucks. So I bought a $5.99 one from Rite Aid and refurbished it with light-resistant cardstock and a permanent marker and glue. Hooray!
