South West Trains Desiro 450013 passes Winchfield and is about to pass below the M3 motorway with a Basingstoke service.

As Units go Class 313's are never going to win any prizes for looks. But they have been around for nearly 40 years being introduced in 1976 on the Great Northern and lines into Moorgate via Finsbury Park. It would appear their time is nearly up with talk of replacements in the offing.

Doing exactly what they were built for 313031 and 026 approach Harringay with a train from Kings Cross to Welwyn Garden City on 2nd May 2011

This shot comes under the category of 'aarrrrrgh, no no no please dont say I cocked that shot up'

This was literally grab camera, head out of window, point, shoot and hope. Allas my only shot of a class 44 at work was never to be. But in the true spirit of 'warts n all railway photography' enjoy. Please feel free to comment however nothing you can say will help.

Cheers SR

As the sun breaks through, 37250 shines as it runs round.

On board the 16.30 from Bishop Auckland to Stanhope. There was a lady with two children further up the carriage and five adults in the other carriage of the unit. It was disappointing that more people were not travelling on this community rail service - Use it or lose it!

Which was exactly what happened as this train service has since ceased to run.
