Although Realtoy very successfully left behind their cheapo unlicensed reputation many years ago they still produce many castings from that particular era which is completely normal for a Far Eastern based toy company as indeed Welly still do also. The vast majority of their newer stuff are realistic and fully licensed models so it was quite surprising that fairly recently they introduced this saloon car which is technically generic. Its almost certainly based on their older Mercedes-Benz C-Class casting and so far has only been used in conjunction with Emergency themed liveries. Its neatly cast and well finished with painted lights and grille and a decent looking interior so as generics go its certainly very pleasing . Part of a new five vehicle set from Tesco who thankfully continue their long association with Realtoy. Mint and boxed.
A nice surprise on the West Coast Main Line just North of Wolverton was Brush Type 2 Class 31 diesel locomotive 31190 double headed with its mucker 31601 hauling a RailVac RA7 vacuum excavator northbound almost certainly from Willesden.
Note the British Railways green livery and 'ferret and dartboard' emblem.
First time i've seen an in service 31 on routine patrol on the mainline for a very very long time! Really pleased to see this!
Absolutely adore Class 31's. Cut my young trainspotting teeth on these at Chelmsford station on the GEML in the late 1970s.
31190 was built as D5613 at Brush Traction Loughborough in April/May 1960.

Fly encrusted National Express East Anglia Class 360,360115 4 car EMU and part of an 8 car set ex London Liverpool Street at speed at Hatfield Peverel bound for Clacton on Sea..
British Rail Class 156 'Super Sprinter' 2 car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 156422 during boarding at Norwich station for the over subscribed (as usual) 2S14 10:45 Albellio Greater Anglia service train to Cromer and Sheringham on August 29th 2014.
I have to say these refurbished Super Sprinter units are a considerably nicer and more comfortable place to be than the nigh on 40 year old TSO (tourist standard open) ex British Rail Mk3a carriages on the Norwich to London Liverpool Street trains with their uncomfortable seats and fixed armrests. Only the lack of air conditioning is a small minus.. which of course means open windows and more noise.

Preserved BR (Swindon) Class "14" 650 hp 0-6-0 No.D9516 in BR two tone green livery at the Didcot railway Centre, 26/05/14. Built in 1964, after withdrawal in 1968 it was bought by Stewarts & Lloyds Minerals (later part of the British Steel Corporation) and served at Buckminster Ironstone Quarry, Lincolnshire, and subsequently BSC Corby until 1981 when it was sold into preservation.
British Rail Class 745 25kV 12 car EMU (Electric Multiple Unit)
745001 working the 1P24 11:30 (12:00 3E) Greater Anglia London Liverpool Street- Norwich service train at about 100 miles per hour northbound at Hatfield Peverel Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in the County of Essex (UK).
The Class 745 EMU's were a direct replacement in early 2020 for the ageing 30 year old plus Class 90 electric locomotives and their slam door British Rail Mk3b coaches which previously worked the Norwich- London Liverpool Street express services..
745001 was built by Stadler Rail at their facility in Bussnang Switzerland as one of the Stadler 'FLIRT' (Fast Light Intercity and Regional Train) modular family of trainsets.
Note the Dellner type coupling system in the big ugly hole at the front of the trains. The Dellner coupling is a version of the Scharfenberg coupler which connects pneumatics and electronics at the same point of contact.
Greater Anglia had an option to have a cover fitted in these coupling holes by Stadler but declined for cost and ease of maintenance reasons.

CR 60 Class No. 14645 seen here in Crimson Lake livery at an unknown location. Designed by William Pickersgill in 1916 and were given the nickname "Greyback" by crews but it is debated on why this name was given. It could be because when in CR Blue, the hot boiler would burn the paint and thus making the top grey or it could be because of their sluggish & temperamental steaming capabilities which seems more likely given O.S. Nocks account of these locomotives. All made it into LMS ownership in 1923 with more being made under Hughes. The last 60 Class was withdrawn in 1953.

Class reunions are the perfect excuse to plan a trip to Madrid to catch up with your classmates, visit IE, and enjoy the city. This year, class reunions were celebrated around the Alumni Forum in May so that attendees have the opportunity to participate in both and enjoy Madrid´s wonderful spring weather.
We were very happy to welcome the following classes to Madrid:
15 year reunion: MBA and IMBA 2001
10 year reunion: IMBA 2006
5 year reunion: IMBA 2011
