Accrington Station (Past and Present)

This group is for any rail pictures taken at Accrington.

This group is to get a good variety of pictures taken from the past and the present. Feel free to add pictures of freight, passenger, steam, railtours and any station architectural history. I would also like to see some pictures of any sidings or pictures taken from the lodge as the old bridge used to look like back in the good old days. and also the Woodnook line.

The Nickel-class corvette is the smallest ship in the Federal Navy. Casian Dockyards designed and built these ships when asked by the Naval Procurement Board for a cheap patrol airship. The Nickel is named so because they cost about as much to build. They are incredibly simple to build and maintain. They are very fast, but are restricted to calm-weather conditions because of their size.

All versions of the Nickel class have a deck gun mounted frontally, but some versions also have aerial torpedo launchers on the bow to give them a chance against heavier opponents. In recognition that the type is extremely vulnerable, the Nickel class has a high amount of Mechanicum gear inside, lowering crew requirements.

During the Blighting, they were very useful in evacuating refugees and military personnel. However, during the Great Scouring, they suffered horrendous losses, mostly to Feral Behemoths. The few that were left were barely reinforced by replacements when the Continental War started, leading to further losses. The enormous casualty figures lead to a change in policy as to the use of the Nickel-class corvettes. Subsequently, they were never to be used in a frontline combat role and wold instead be relegated to patrol and policing duties.

Although some were sold to foreign nations and the type has seen some success outside of the Federal Republic of Casia, it is not generally considered a very good ship. If the best one can say of a ship is how fast it can run away from trouble, maybe it shouldn't be looking for trouble in the first place.

The Casian Dockyards are just barely kept afloat by orders of this ship, but they need to quickly design a newer, better ship if they are to succeed in the cutthroat world of airship building.

Pennsylvania Railroad 0-6-0T (Shop Goat), B8a class, tank type steam locomotive is seen heading out of a roundhouse stall at East Altoona, Pennsylvania, September 16, 1955. You can see the engineer in the cab. This was locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1905 as a class B8 conventional switcher with a tender, but later was converted to become a tank type locomotive. This locomotive has the old style slide valve cylinders, rather than the new piston valve style cylinders.

Lol today’s sewing class was mostly me trying to make a male coat pattern but FAILING terribly so there’s only a scant amount of outfits today lol.

I wanted to make a coordinating outfit for my repro TNT Barbie cuz I loved the colours of the Fox print fabric but didn’t want to use the same print for both of them so I used this orange print with light blue cotton lol.

I’ve also been meaning to make a pair of floral overalls and made a cruddy looking singlet to go with it but eh, I love the overall look (lame pun intended).

I also had BARELY enough of the green shimmery fabric leftover from the cape to make a sheath dress for my Fashion Queen. I really like it on her since it’s a bit more subdued but really nice too. I absolutely hated the satin lining that came with this fabric (since it was originally a vest that had been harvested) so unfortunately I couldn’t make a matching jacket for her but I feel the gloves work well.

While I liked Sea Adventurer’s official GI Joe clothes I wanted something similar to his original blue outfit so I made adjustments to my Ken shirt pattern and made him a new outfit that’s a bit of a twist on his Sea Adventurer clothing.

Also I realised it just makes him look even more like Bob Ross….

Brand new British Rail Class 755 4 car diesel electric Bi-Mode Multiple Unit (BMU) 755422 working a Stansted Airport- Norwich Greater Anglia service train at Cambridge Station in the County of Cambridgeshire (UK).

755422 was built for Greater Anglia by Stadler Rail at their facility in Bussnang Switzerland as one of the Stadler 'FLIRT' (Fast Light Intercity and Regional Train) modular family of trainsets.

The Class 755 bi-mode units should not be confused with the very similar looking Stadler Rail 'FLIRT' Class 745 Electric (only) Multiple Units which are being introduced by Greater Anglia from 2020.

Note the Dellner type coupling system in the big ugly hole at the front of the train. The Dellner Coupling is a version of the Scharfenberg coupler which connects pneumatics and electronics at the same point of contact.
