This view & tree has got to be one of the most photographed things at Little Round Top. Or is it just me? Taken with my new Nikon D200 & AF-S 18-70 lens. I also think I used my tripod for this shot as well.
Winter break +2, a cold day, and no joke, -5 F right now, -24 real feel...
GIMPist: auto white balance, desaturate, unsharp mask, adjust brightness and contrast.
In years having done mostly concert photography, I lost that thing for spending hours on a single image. In fact, I don't remember how long it was since I had spent the whole night in front of the screen, trying to balance impact and naturality, expression and honesty. I feel this one was worth it. I hope she forgives me for letting her sleep alone last night.
Per tu, per a tu, Felicitats!!!
By the way, those red drops were there, we never leave our garbage around! ;P
This photo was captured during one of the fleeting moments that nobody was standing in front of the falls on such a busy winters day. Not that I'm complaining, I found plenty of things to shoot just downstream that I may not have bothered with on a day with fewer visitors.
This is my third cutlery related photo this year, what is this thing I have about forks!
Using the polarizer to show all the stress lines in some clear plastic forks. I can't help but feel that if I turned the camera on myself at the moment I might look very colourful like this too!
shot this frame at Lily Lake while waiting for darkness to fall as people started to gather around the lake to watch one of the best fireworks show in Illinois...this fireworks show is held annually during the Lakemoor Festival....pls. View On Black
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!!
Will catch up with your streams later......
- www.kevin-palmer.com - Mather Point is where I got my first view of the Grand Canyon after arriving in the park. Like many of the viewpoints, you can't actually see the river from here because the canyon is just too deep.

Sometimes you really need a polarizer.
I was amazed at the variety of colors and minerals in those desolate mountains.
This one made Explore!
More shots from my sunrise shoot with Sam's friends.
I love the colour in here and again the lighter treatment. Hope you enjoy the outcome from this bit of mucking around with a RAW file ;-)
The moments that take our breath away...
"When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; (4) What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? (5) For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour." Psalms 8:3-5 KJV

With a couple of friends having significant birthdays and an anniversary, a group of us headed to the Santa Barbara area for a long weekend of wine and music to celebrate. I was generally awake prior to sunrise and would just grab the camera for a stroll along the ocean, as it was only a quick walk from our rental. The mornings had low tide, but the sand was still damp for a nice reflection. We had beautiful weather, to say the least. Hoping to return the US-version of the Riviera for another visit someday.
Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma in San Diego, California is one of the best spots to take sunset photos..it offers a vast unobstructed, pristine view of the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful sandstone cliffs with wild flowers also offer some great photo ops when they catch some awesome sunset light esp. the face of the cliffs....some very cool rock formations are also just at the bottom of the cliffs which is very readily accessible by navigating down the steep paths leading to the rocky shores....easy to find parking too and the place fills up fast with photographers and sunset seekers like me.....pls.View On Black
Sometimes, my favorite sunset shots come with the sun to my back. This was one of those nights. Pretty colors in the sky.
*See the previous upload for what I called the "Most Famous" tree in New Bern. This may be my #2 favorite tree in town.*

This shot is along the country road that leads the farm of a Flickr friend JanelleFaith1977. Some gently rolling hills and a nicely textured road add to the beauty.
Technical info: Canon 60D, Canon EF-S 15-85mm, three exposure HDR (+3, 0, -3) tonemapped in Photomatix Pro, processed in Adobe Lightroom, toned in Alien Skin Exposure, and signature added in Photoshop CS5.

In four trips to Hawaii, I've seen a lot of beautiful places, but I think Hanalei Bay takes first place. One day we'll make it back...
This was the view from the beach at the St. Regis, located in the northern region of Kauai. This view of Hanalei Bay was stunning!
- www.kevin-palmer.com - Bridal Veil Falls is found in the northern Black Hills just outside of Spearfish. The waterfall cascades about 50 feet down a granite cliff in Spearfish Canyon. The cloudy weather was perfect for shooting with longer exposures.
just another granite reflection shot of the city skyline as captured from the South Loop...used the granite benches around the Adler planetarium as my reflective surface, comped the shot and triggered the time delay for the long exposure capture...i really liked how the movements of the clouds came out in this frame...looks so much better if you View On Black
264/366: Mountain Side Waterfall
On our way back from Silverton Colorado we found this mountain side waterfall off the side of the road. I knew I wanted to stop and capture this glistening beauty which was so randomly placed on the side of the mountain and road. A line eagerly formed behind me to capture the specialness of the waterfall, as if it existed as such no where else in the universe, but here and now, in this moment. I, however, continued to take my time in capturing such magnificent beauty - as I knew something so special deserved my utmost attention and time in order to truly show the world the grace of the mountain side waterfall.
