Inevitably I became part of the food chain of bugs inside of the burrow like my little friend… Usually it is not the big animals I worry about but the little ones. Ha! The insects and smaller critters that treat humans like any other food source and their bites is a itchy marathon… As you see here the silent little egret was scratching herself equally as I was! This picture was taken with an intentional over-exposed light control on backlight situation, it seems weird but I have been studying this series since last year, found out that it is quite challenging and fun.
…as the little egret, I know that is him :-)
***I’m receiving many emails asking for details about this series, so plz read some technical details here. thanks!

We discovered this falls through a guide book. It was late afternoon, daylight was getting short and there was a consistent rain falling - which was great for the foliage and rock. The trail was muddy and slick, but ultimately, the destination was worth it!

314/366: Lost Among The Trees | Aspen + Pine
Another version of my ‘Lost Among The Trees’ series this time featuring the Aspen Trees and Pine Trees in Colorado during the fall season. I love in this photo how the trees share the land, they share the resources, they share the good and the bad – they are cohesive in their journey for happiness and kindness. They don’t judge and they don’t hate – they choose to live together, peacefully and in friendship. Shading each other from the pain, from the negative and from the heat. They choose to shine in their differences and thrive in harmony with Mother Earth.

i would like to end this series by going back to the Vatican City during our Papal Audience vist at St. Peter's Square...we were able to go early that morning and got front row seats in the square and had to wait for 2 hours for the Pope's scheduled mass at the square...the place was packed with pilgrims and visitors from all over the world and when the Pope, riding on the Popemobile showed, there was this really loud celebratory and joyous cheer that erupted in the square...some were crying, some laughed, some were screaming, some waved, some were singing to the Pope...it was a totally fulfilling experience to see him this close...i just got up on my chair and started calling him and waving, yelling Hi Pope! Hi Pope! Hi Pope!!!!...i don't know why those words came out but that was what i was yelling...and i was shooting that camera non stop at the same time...it was for us both one of the highlights of this wonderful trip...hope you guys enjoyed the miniscule amount of images that i've shared with you...i would definitely be posting some more in the future but this would be the last in this series for now...GRAZIE!!!!!
Pls View On White and receive the blessings of our Pope!!!

took this frame about half an hour later after my sunset shot of this fountain....i was really happy that the fountain had some uplighting from it's base as i have previously asked a person who worked in the gardens if they light up the fountain at night and was told that there was no night lights for this fountain....it looked more awesome in person though....i'm planning on going back tomorrow night for more night shots as there's only 2 weeks left where CBG stays open until 9pm.....pls. We hiked Glen Leigh (up to Shawnee Falls) and Ganoga Glen (up to Ganoga Falls). I quick-checked Adams Falls, but only snapped an iPhone pic of it.

Lately, I have been having a great amount of difficulty processing my images. I am in a rut of sorts, having not learned any new techniques in a very long time. Many of my recently processed images have been discarded solely because I am not happy with them. While this is not something new, it is something that I am happy with. Maybe things are changing.

this is a long exposure reflection shot captured around Montrose Harbor in the north side of Chicago...it was a beautiful night for harbor shots as the waters looked calm and serene...just cropped it to 16x9 format and played around with the fade slider during post work to achieve this blue-grey monochromatic look...

We call this little falls Whirlpool Falls because it has a nice eddy that catches debris in the water and keeps it going in circles...you dont really notice it with the eye, but when you take a long exposure, like this one, the whirl becomes evident (see note). We were there late this afternoon, and it was really darker than I would have liked, but with a 30 second exposure, I was able to get a few decent shots.

Taken in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. I found it amazing that the colours of the hammocks matched the water and sky so well.
This is the final post from last Spring's Caribbean cruise. Next up, this past Fall's Mediterranean cruise.
Walking through the backwoods to reach this drop, deep in Victoria’s Yarra Ranges, there was a definite, weird and unsettling vibe felt by Nathan, Robert and myself. Almost unwelcoming. It didn’t help either that on the way out we passed burnt out, abandoned cars and came across a random hunting dog with no owner in sight. As such we all resoundingly agreed to name this drop “Deliverance Falls”. This is an image of the upper drop, reminiscent of Tasmania’s “Lower Chasm Falls”.
another one from my archives...a brightly exposed night close up shot of the loop skyscrapers shot from the Adler Planetarium area...enjoy your day friends, will catch up with you soon as i have been under the weather for the past week...just can't get rid of my cough and colds with night time fevers...
in 1851, the US coastal survey selected this headland as the site for a navigational aide....the crest stood 422 feet above sea level and overlooked the SD Bay and the ocean...this was completed in 1854 and on November 15,1855 was first lit by keeper James Keating...they later boarded up this lighthouse and was last used in 1891 and they built another lighthouse at the bottom of this overlook or hill....

been coming to this spot on different days hoping to catch this view when there's great light and the river is calm...so far though, i have come up empty with a shot that i feel would be something memorable and unique...i went there this morning for the third try and boy was it cold and windy up on Kinzie Bridge...i even thought about taking the wooden stairs by the bridge house to go down but decided not to...this scene i shot on my second visit there and loved the morning light painting the sides of the building on the right which bouced off beautifully on the glass windows of the Chicago Sun Times building...i'm not giving up though...i shall return!!!!
