Once one starts eating the cake, it is so delicious that he can’t stop eating it. And that becomes a problem. Hence the name of the cake.
This cake is a special treat for the birthdays in our family. Distribution of the cake to family members has to be tightly controlled by mom, otherwise everybody wants some more.

I talked about making a chocolate cake with courgette as one of the ingredients back at sunflowers.moleville.co.uk/chocolate-courgettes/
I finally took the plunge and had a go. Here we have the courgette part of it, the rest involved a lot of flour and cocoa powder. The end result was mixed. It made a nice cake that you could not taste the courgette (although Jack said he would not eat it as it had cucumber in, lol!). But it was very wet and really did not last too long until it turned into a cake of goo. A mixed result then, maybe next time a bit more flour or a bit less courgette.
A twist on the classic lemon meringue pie, where instead of a pastry case I used cake. Light and delicious!
We had some disposable cameras that people used to take fotos -- and by people, I mean Callum and Scott, mostly! ;P

One of my favorite kids asked for a cake for her birthday. Her eighth, obviously. All she said was "Strawberry!" ... So the cake itself is strawberry cake, with buttercream frosting.
The strawberries are strawberry flavored fondant. The dirt is crushed Oreos.
There's an additional personal story, behind the figure 8.
When I turned eight,I got a cake shaped like an 8. I loved it. We didn't finish it all, and the rest went into the freezer. Less than a month later, the whole family went to Scotland for a year. That whole year I remembered the cake in the freezer.
Someone watched the house, maybe rented it, I have no clue - I was eight - and I'm sure my parents must have cleaned the fridges out before we left. But I didn't know that.
When we got back, the first thing I wanted was some of that cake. It was, alas, long gone. I was seriously miffed. This is a surprisingly strong childhood memory.
Thank you, Miss Chiff, for turning eight, and allowing me, some umpty-ump years later, to have some more 8-cake!

Detail of my maiden voyage with red velvet cake balls.
...like I said, I tried to decorate a few, but it didn't work out too well. *shrug* Like, the polka-dot ones make me think of Darth Maul, for some reason. *cringe* And on one of the other ones, it looked like I'd put the Hand of Saruman on it, before I started making it into a criss-cross pattern.
Yes, Uruk-hai cake balls. Awesome.
Clearly, I need more experience. *sigh*

This cake was a learning experience. It is the very first cake I ever covered in fondant.
The sushi rolls are actually cupcakes cut into circles, frosted and rolled in fondant with sprinkles. The shrimp, avacado, cucumbers, and crabmeat are fondant. There were fondant fortune cookies.. but they got eaten before this picture was taken.
