CSX Gevo crosses Commerce Ave. and the NS with coal empties on the Buckingham Branch Railroad in Waynesboro VA.
CSX B705-31 with CN 3241 and CN 3234 both in the 100th Anniversary paint scheme headed eastbound through Clyde NY bound for Philadelphia PA 6-1-24.
CSX Road Slug #2213 is at the head of the line on the side tracks in Richmond. This unit was formerly C&O #3530, so she should know the area well.

CSX SD60 8704 was on the point of a northbound tote train sitting next to the yard office in the Etowah, TN yard on January 9, 2008.
By the way, see that mountain in the background? That is Starr Mountain, named for Sam Starr who once owned it. Sam was a trader and plantation owner who married a Cherokee woman. During the forced removal of the Cherokee, Creek, Chickasaw, Choctaw and Seminole in the 1830s, Sam was forced to go west to Oklahoma with his family if he wanted to stay with them and gave up his mountain. Sam's grandson would later marry a woman named Belle - the famous (or infamous) outlaw Belle Starr.
I have traveled just about every square inch of that mountain, on foot and in vehicles - including one highly improbable crossing in a 1978 Ford Thunderbird driven by my friend, the late Joel McCurdy. :)

On March 21, 1995, I shot CSX GP38AC 2134 (ex-SBD 6225, nee-L&N 4004, to CSX RDMT 2343) & GP38 2083 (ex-C&O 3883, to LLPX 2024, to GMTX GP38-2 2679) with a local at Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
On a brisk January 22, 2026, CSX 5424 powers east with a unit covered hopper train, thundering through Defiance, Ohio. We spotted the train as it entered the western edge of town, crossing the diamond with the Napoleon, Defiance and Western at "FC Tower."
CSX 5424 was built in February of 2007.

I apologize for the blurry exposures, my point and shoot didn't handle this bright midday sunlight very well.
CSX Q032-16 dodges the rain through Langhorne with SD40-3s 4011 and 4027 ahead of an SD70AC and a GEVO with a long intermodal in tow. This was one of the first runs of the now seven day a week Q032. June 17, 2017.
CSX Q191-27 makes a fairly early appearance Trenton Sub appearance as they glide westbound at Stony Hill Road in Yardley not too long before sunset. An uncommon duo of BNSF units (for this train anyway) were on the point, with 15 month old ET44C4 3860 leading a D9-44CW and a CSX CW44AC... December 27, 2016

Southbound on the KD Sub, CSX 61 leads G515 past an old L&N depot a few miles south of Corbin.
