In a view from the CR&I bridge, CSX AC60 No. 615 heads east on the Blue Island Sub at 49th Street, in January 2000. The CTA Orange Line is at left on the ROW of the former PRR Panhandle. The former CR&I (NS) tracks can be seen descending the ramp into Leavitt Street Yard, which was used by GTW for many years as their Railport Intermodal Yard. By this date, Leavitt Street Yard was being used to store covered hoppers.

5472 was built in April of 2007.
CSX K145-22 cruises westbound past Woodbourne Station and one of the atrocious new CP Woodbourne signals led by BNSF ES44AC 6282 leading a pair of CSX ES44AHs with an empty oil train in tow. After running east out of Philadelphia as a K139, the train terminated in North Jersey and was then re-profiled as K145 and returned west, presumably for storage. April 22, 2017.
CSX P927-09 glides through West Trenton led by an ES44AH/ES40DC duo with the last move of the Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey "Red Unit" Circus Train, which was headed home to Florida after completing their final show in Providence, RI. The consist was a short 22 cars after leaving a bulk of the train in Oak Island, where some cars would head to new homes, and others would join the blue unit consist in the coming weeks. First train of the morning and the sun has only just broke the horizon giving that early warm glow; as it catches CSX 960 coming off the Lakeland line at Vitis with an empty coal train.
The is the former West Shore Line of the New York Central where it crosses the Rondout Creek, known as the Wilbur Bridge. It's an interesting deign using an over and under truss. The line is still a very active freight line, now run by CSX. I'm a bit surprised a train didn't cross while I was here, as they tend to run about one an hour or so.
A westbound CSX Ballast train rolls through Tuscola, Illinois on July 28th, 2015 at 3:50 pm with CSX 8138-2490 and 40 CSX ballast cars, all in the 967*** series. All cars were former Conrail ballast cars in the 53*** series.
Union Pacific's Villa Grove sub is in the foreground. CN's Chicago sub is behind me. The train is heading into a tornadic looking sky, the going away shots show that.
CSX SD40-2 #8138 was built by EMD as L&N #8138 in September of 1981. Unit briefly ran as SBD #8138 between 1983 & 1985.

Empties roll north on the Scottslawn Secondary which has seen an uptick in traffic over the last year. Southbound CSX locomotives led by 4315 cross West Bay Drive on July 20, 2011. Engine 4316, also a GP39-2, follows. CSX's business train is at MP 61...about to cross Devil's Hollow Road just outside of Frankfort, KY on the old L&N "Old Road".
The Governor of KY will utilize the CSX varnish as his VIP conveyance to the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby.
With #9999 on the point, the train arrived in Frankfort today to be prepared for the festivities on Derby Day.
