A Westbound CSX intermodal train ducks under the ex Erie Rochester Branch Bridge in the pouring rain at Batavia, NY. This was the obvious choice to try to get the Erie 1068 heritage unit on a K649 tanker train, but this was one of my favorite shots from the time spent waiting for K649 to show up. With temps in the 90's, with high humidity, standing in the rain felt pretty good!
A battle tested veteran leads train Q300 past MP AQ 11, on the CSX Trenton Sub, in Northeast Philadelphia.

CSXT 858 providing power for intermodal train CSX I136 as it sits at the Marshalling Yard in Suffolk, VA on the Commonwealth Railway (CWRY).
The crew waits for its van as coal trains are being left around the Balitmore area while the port is closed due to bad weather. This one will sit on the siding at Avalon.
CSXT 4621 (now under private ownership and under the care of the WMSR) sits in Ridgeley, WV still dressed in "CSX Stripe" paint with the yellow noses added. The paint was touched up a few months back for a photo shoot but most of the paint should be original late 80s CSX. The unit was formerly Western Maryland 7496, her sister unit and herself are the two heaviest straight SD40s built. One can hope that one day she is restored to her original WM colors, but for now stripe will suffice.
The CSX OCS, train symbol P931 18 rumbles over Stony Hill Rd under the catenary of the Trenton Sub. The train is headed for Selkirk, NY,
CSX train Q171 flies into Ripley Interlocking in rural Noble County, Indiana with a CSX unit trailing. It is actually very rare to see CSX power on this train, with BNSF power running through to North Baltimore, Ohio on Q172 and returning on Q171. NS power has also become common.
CSX 2128 leading an Eastbound is stopped on the old P&LE main for a crew change at New Castle Yard in Mahoningtown, PA on September 19, 1994. A Westbound is departing with a unit still in Family Lines paint. After the demise of the P&LE, CSX reconfigured the trackage at New Castle so that the P&LE main became the new CSX main track #2.
CSX C746 reverses down the Trenton Sub main towards Woodbourne from TL behind a trio of SD40-2s as the sun rises higher over the trees.

I shot some of my first train pictures at this crossing 30 years ago (sadly long gone.) It was nice to come back out here and do it again.
A southbound CSX train speeds along Monon road and approaches Roselawn, Indiana on June 15th, 1995. Train had CSX #5807 in the lead with 3 trailing and 19 cars. Normally catching trains along this road involved a lot of dust in the photo due to trying to get ahead of it in the gravel, stopping and shooting. Since that's not the case, I'm assuming I heard it come across the Thayer detector and had time to get ready....Train is passing MP 56 which can be seen next to the 3rd unit. Ponderosa Sun Club would be to my right across the tracks, which is where Nudes A Poppin is held.......
CSX B30-7 #5807 was built by GE in March of 1980 as SCL #5501. Unit was retired in 2013.

CSX 2667 & 4418 lead a local turn job from Rochester to Batavia back towards Rochester at Savage Road in Riga, NY on March 15, 2020. After endless numbers of GEVO's on CSX trains, it is always nice to catch something with spartan cabs.

Train Y220 snakes around an S-curve by NW 97th Ave. The curve was likely designed to suit exit ramps for a potential interchange that was never built. The 39 and 7786 are shuttling empty FRKX hoppers perhaps to clear Hialeah Yard for Dorian.
CSX 7313 & 8444 lead Westbound racks, probably Q217, between the NS and Union RR bridges along the Monongahela River at Port Perry, PA on 11/14/2009.
