We are back from our trip, which was a definite escape - from winter and other unfortunate realities, such as the government shutdown.
As it happens, my youngest daughter, formerly a park ranger and now working for the US Forest Service, is out of work. Like most government workers, she is a dedicated worker who enjoyed serving the public.
Friends, at this time I cannot find any joy in posting pictures, and so I will wait till something changes for the better.
In the meantime, I am finding solace in looking at your work.
The stunning Soča is a crystal clear river that runs primarily through the western part of Slovenia.
Burgh Island, Bigbury-on-Sea, South Hams, Devon. It is the end of the holiday season at Bigbury; and the last few days of summer in September 2021 bring some lovely sunshine to south Devon. Great view across to Burgh Island through some “Red Hot Poker” plants I found growing wild.

After an incredibly warm weekend here in Virginia, I was wondering where the nearest ocean getaway was from here. Rottnest popped into my mind!

Another picture of the Green Lake in Styria, Austria with it's emerald green and crystal clear water.
This lake was recently voted to the most beautiful place inside Austria.
I went to Yellowstone during the last part of spring. The snow was still quite deep in the mountains, but in the Yellowstone valley is was relatively nonexistent except in the mountains. This is an image from the north end of Grand Prismatic Spring. The Grand Prismatic Spring gets its name from the many different colors that can be observed in the hot water which is caused by the bacteria living in microbial mats.
Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in the United States and is about 160 °F.

After a day at the beach in Brighton, Adelaide/South Australia, I took this picture. Sadly I didn't have my tripod with me for a LE, but I think this one deserves to be shared aswell.

Two brand new fishing boats moored in the middle of Vouliagmeni's bay are looking for skipjack. That beautiful seascape flooded with light and bright colors , fills you with freshness and optimism. Is there any better than this?
Land of lemon, of olives
earth of embrace, of joy
land of pine, cypress
of young men and love

Γη της λεμονιάς, της ελιάς
γη της αγκαλιάς, της χαράς

Probably our favorite thing to do while visiting Bonnie. Her place is near the famous spring, where kayaks can be rented for a many-hour float/paddle down this crystalline river. A van hauls the kayaks and paddlers back at the end of the paddle [a very big plus!].
If you thought that the colours are over saturated, its a mistake. This is one place you only experience being there.. Simply .......... no words...
SOOC. The only thing missing that I wish was in this photo is one white puffy cloud ;D No plans to photoshop it. I like this as is regardless of what the critics would say ;)
