Hanging lights just like I said, and it had to be the coldest night of the year. Ugh! These little plastic hooks work great and I just love love love bokeh! But when shooting Christmas lights, *that* comes with the territory.

My christmas tree this year, all gold baubles and decorations with 2 sets of white lights and one set of red.
This is how we spend our time on Christmas Day in Southern California :-)
Was a balmy 70+ degrees when this pic was taken on Christmas Day 2017 (84F in pool and 104F in Hot tub).

The beautiful handmade Christmas Nisse was the very first gift from our newly found cousins in Norway. We received it for Christmas 1999.
The pieces of china were gifts from my Norwegian cousins. The name of the china is "God Jul".
December 24. So much snow in the streets. No buses. The school is closed. The teachers didn't arrive.
The holidays begin a bit earlier for the happy kids.
Adults are less happy, when they must drive or finish their Christmas shopping.
24 décembre.
Il y a tant de neige dans les rues.
Les bus ne roulent pas.
Il n'y a presque pas de voitures dans les rues.
L'école est fermée. Les profs ne sont pas arrivés.
Et les vacances commencent en avance pour les enfants ravis.
Les adultes sont moins contents, surtout ceux qui conduisent ou doivent terminer leur courses de Noël.

These were a pain to make, but so cute they were worth the mess and the burns!

Only three weeks until Christmas Eve! Our cabin is decorated - gifts are hiding, and cookie baking begins today. Every afternoon though - you will find me curled up on our four season porch, as I sip a French Vanilla Coffee and watch the sunset. (Our sunsets now occur in mid-afternoon, just around three o'clock.) It is a quiet break in the day that I always look forward to. ** This shot is of the little Christmas tree in my kitchen - with a bit of creative manipulation. :))

My family celebrated Christmas in 1956 at my uncle's house in Archer City, Texas. The town may sound familiar - its the setting for the movie "The Last Picture Show."

Christmas carp is specially raised in manmade ponds and then sold from large tubs placed on the streets and town squares a few days before Christmas. You will not see this sight at any other time of the year. Some families keep their carp in the bathtub for several days as a temporary pet for their children...
