The bulbs of this Christmas Lily (Trumpet or Longiflorum Lilies) originated in the garden of my Grandfather from the early 1970s. They will always flower in my garden around the New Year.
From Christmas night last year. I posted the one on the right as a standalone last year, but since it's Christmastime once again, I thought I would bring out this diptych. Both were taken handheld from my window a few minutes apart.

I have become fond of this tiretoy present that came to me in the Christmas mix of things from someone. I know, I'm as surprised as anyone. But I've played with it inside the house and outside the house now, and even convinced Dad to pack it for our walk this morning.
He says when it gets winter cold, it will become hard as a hockey puck, and should be kept inside. But he says this is just a phase I'm going through, anyway. I think he's right. I think he's right out of his mind!
This tiretoy is orange like my favorite outside ball, round like a ball, in a way, and it can roll like a ball, too, so it's already halfway to being a ball without even being played with! I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Now I have to make tracks with my new tiretoy!
