Our Christmas Tree. There are decorations that go on the tree year after year & some new ones each year.
I never fully appreciate the tree until I spend some time up close and take in the little hidden places between the branches.

Christmas Long Ago
A Xmas Poem by Jo Geis
Frosty days and ice-still nights,
Fir trees trimmed with tiny lights,
Sound of sleigh bells in the snow,
That was Christmas long ago.
Tykes on sleds and shouts of glee,
Icy-window filigree,
Sugarplums and candle glow,
Part of Christmas long ago.
Footsteps stealthy on the stair,
Sweet-voiced carols in the air,
Stocking hanging in a row,
Tell of Christmas long ago.
Starry nights so still and blue,
Good friends calling out to you,
Life, so fact, will always slow...
For dreams of Christmas long ago.

Picked up at local antiques shop last year. No cards left but filled with vintage stickers and assorted knick-knacks. I may have been ripped off on this one but I just couldn't resist.

from top : dark choc mint ganache, candied ginger, rouges fruits macarons. my favorite is the dark choc mint, and i used valrhona 55% equatorial for the ganache, which is the best in my opinion coz its not too dark, and the sweetness is just right. the candied ginger one is alright, but could do with more ginger in the shell & cream. as for the rouges fruits, i added puree of 6 types of frozen red berries, tastes alright too.
