Merry Christmas!
A seasonal MOC, made for a contest at Comunidade 0937.
It's a cottage decorated for Christmas. Created using basic bricks and tiles, it's one of my rare buildings.
It was a big effort to create such a thing. My parts collection is oriented to the creation of vehicles, not houses.
Also it doesn't have minifigs, although it is minifig scale. The contest rules would not allow it. Besides, my minifigs are mostly city workers, mechanics and race car drivers.
Inspiration came from many photos and postcards I found on Google.
I wish I could put a V8 and some big tires in there... :D

Taken today, December 25th, 2017. This is my sister and her boyfriend standing in front of my Christmas tree. I took it with my Polaroid Colorpack II and Fuji FP-100c instant film. I used an old Westinghouse flash cube to light my image. After all these years, it still worked fine! The camera was made from 1969 to 1972, with earlier models like mine having a real glass lens.

My son added Christmas lights to the tree. My husband likes it so much he wants it to be our Christmas card, now who is going to address them all!?!?
This final gift of the challenge is for my Secret Santa person- someone who is brave with shots, admiring of art, with an unerring eye to what makes a photo cool!

This month we are doing a Secret Santa type challenge. You all will be assigned someone that you have to gift. They were randomly selected using a very scientific method-the names were pulled out of a hat! : )
I will send each of you the name of the person that you got via flickrmail that way no one will know who got them until the post is made. :)
As for the actual challenge, your gift will be the photo you post. You must post at least one photo, but you may post as many as 4. (Collages are fine this time around, too) You can take a picture of an actual gift you would purchase for your person, or a meal you would make, how you would spend a day with them, or even make it a sort of tribute to them....entirely up to you.
All photos must be posted no later than Christmas Day!
The elusive Christmas Snowflake Fairy is a favorite of mine for many years now. She pops into our home around this time of year to brighten up the room. She has an un-canning way about her, as she changes from blue to green to red to white. She makes it very hard to capture a picture of her. But as luck would have it the new digital's have made it much easier to see the little Lady as she passes through. It seems when she comes out, the snow comes with her. ... Keep a watch, she may be floating somewhere in your home over the holidays.

A pair of swans standing on snow and river ice watch the sunrise. I think they are hoping Santa brings them some boots for Christmas :D
Christmas carp is specially raised in manmade ponds and then sold from large tubs placed on the streets and town squares a few days before Christmas. You will not see this sight at any other time of the year. Some families keep their carp in the bathtub for several days as a temporary pet for their children...
Just another dessert from Christmas....red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting! Already working on the diet...lol!

In this version I used an aperture of f2 which changed the bokeh somewhat . I prefer the greater depth of field, but prefer the bokeh on the f1.4 version
Two SB28s with full CTO gels at 24mm pointed at the walls 1/16 power, This is to produce dark field lighting using the christmas tree as the dark field and the walls as the white reflecting areas.
The idea was to fill the glass with the tree but have the outline picked out in white light.
The a slow shutter speed was used to bring up the ambient light.

As you can see, this is indeed, The Christmas Chicken" used by Santa for some of his shorter, and hotter stops. The reindeer don't love hot weather, although they do on occasion make the effort. When they cannot, the Christmas Chicken happily fills in. Santa uses his own compass. (he thinks that star will get him there.....who am I to disabuse him of the notion?"
