Go on. You know you want to.
~But, it's a Christmas decoration and you weren't going to take one this week.
Yes I know, but it's so shiny and it's got cool splashes of red on it.

And Happy Christmas!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Everyone! Thank you all so much for your comments and faves throughout 2024!
Hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas.
Many apologies for taking so long to return visits over the last four or five months, only another few months of chemotherapy then radiation to go, then will, hopefully, be on the way back to normal.
First Christmas full moon since 1977. The next one won't be until 2034.

Our Christmas cactus is now blooming as the weather is cold.
I am heading up to see my brother in hospital (yes, he is still in hospital). He has been in for 9 weeks and is now able to put 50% weight on his broken leg. He will be going to rehab possibly in a couple of weeks time so in all it will be about 14 weeks of hospital. We are still not sure whether he will be going home or going into care, but he is adamant it will be home.
got inspiration for this cake from a Christmas card www.flickr.com/photos/amatteroftaste/3128761204/in/photos...
Do you struggle for ideas when it comes to Christmas cakes? I made enough snowmen and penguins in my time and I am always looking for inspiration. Where do you get ideas for Christmas cakes?
Our Christmas Tree. There are decorations that go on the tree year after year & some new ones each year.
I never fully appreciate the tree until I spend some time up close and take in the little hidden places between the branches.

The Christmas cactus may be known under various names (like Thanksgiving cactus or Easter cactus), the scientific name for Christmas cactus is "Schlumbergera bridgessii". Christmas cactus is not only easy to care for but propagates easily too. This plant is from a slip from my Mother's plant (which was in her care in the early 1960's) and got so big I had to give it a better/bigger home a few years ago.
Same bloom as an earlier capture www.flickr.com/photos/128924064@N08/25654733054/in/datepo... - a few days later.

A simple Christmas tree built for the Eurobricks Raffle.
I like looking at other people's big Christmas trees with over-the-top decorations, but for myself I'd much rather something small and simple.
Merry Christmas to y'all!
The nutcracker one is rather usual.
Seen on Amanda Avenue, Whitby, Ontario.
It's that time of year again - the Christmas market has appeared in our main shopping area, Commercial Road! It was a rainy old day when I was there yesterday, but it's the sort of UK weather that isn't unusual at Christmas!
Christmas quilt sewn up using Lori Holt's Cozy Christmas line, plus a few other christmas fabrics thrown in. I cut strips 2" wide to form the triangles for the hexagons. This turned out great, I'm so excited to have it done before Christmas!
