Have yourself a most abstract weekend.
The invisible subject is a vase with pine cones and Christmas lights. The very edge of the vase is on the lower right, where ilsebatten has added a note. The lights made a wonderful shadow (the horizontal line) on the night wall. I then used a movement blur at the same angle as the line and increased contrast.
Christmas morning 1915, Englewood, New Jersey. My father celebrated his first Christmas in the arms of his big sister. The clothes, decorations and old fashioned toys may be of another era, but my aunt's expression would match any child's today.
The picture was taken in 1915 and printed in 1916, as written on the photo.
This is an old family photo that I tried to enhance a bit in photoshop. The original is below in comments.
... my photo of a seagull in Florida, overlaid with snow textures from Alice Popkorn.
Christmas wishes for all my amazing contacts in flickr-land!
Way too busy lately with life, but here is another shot from my parents Christmas light display.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
I wish you all Merry Christmas and a peaceful year 2015
Ich wünsch Euch Allen Frohe Weihnachtstage und ein friedvolles Neues Jahr 2015
No, I haven't been invited to spend Christmas with Charles and Camilla! This is Prince Charles' shop in Tetbury, the Cotswold town that is near to his Highgrove home. It's also called Highgrove. The doors and windows are painted a lovely duck egg blue which looks gorgeous against the stone.
I took this on my birthday trip to the Cotswolds on 24th November when the window display already looked very Christmassy.
We celebrated Christmas 2017 in Columbus, OH, at the home of our son, Brian, and his family.
Rosalind and Portia enjoying one of the gifts.
Spent about 17 years growing, less than 200 feet from where it will spend the holidays. Things were getting pretty crowded where it was, and the other tree around it will have a better spring with more light and water.
As I promised yesterday, here's the vig in its entirety. It's built for decoration purposes. Also, it looks very nice when it's dark and the lights are turned on. I borrowed the tree design from Chris McVeigh, also known as Powerpig. The instructions can be found at his website.
I hope you like it and an early merry Christmas to everyone!
We celebrated Christmas 2001 at our home in Richmond, Virginia.
This is our Norwegian Christmas tree.
We celebrated Christmas 1972 at my parents' house in Cordell, OK.
Branden got several Fisher Price toys that year.
A very Happy Christmas to Flickr friends far and near!
(This is last Christmas Day, at a friend's house - the setting sun suddenly flashed out gold through a gap in the trees).
The star comes early to guide the wisemen. :-)
These beautiful flowers are plentiful on the big island of Hawaii. Came home yesterday...
