I called this the "trial bento" because it is the first one where I experimented the moistness of certain foods. I hated putting pretzels (etc) in a bento the night before and once removed from the fridge in the morning they would be slightly moist. So now I leave a container where I'll stick the pretzels open and throw them in at the morning...and they aren't mushy by lunchtime! :D
Beautiful rice cracker assortment from Kyoto, in an equally beautiful hand lacquered wooden bento box. Not really an obento, but what the hey!
Yesterday, I made steamed pork buns. The bun flour is a store bought. Filling ingredients: ground pork, dried shrimp, green onion, minced garlic, soy souce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt and black pepper. It Took me 2 hours to make 24 buns. What can I say, my kids ask me to make their fav food....(-_^)
