On a day when I was one of only three people on this beach at the tip of an otherwise very congested island. I walked around the long way, up the beach side, recalling a trip I'd made two years earlier. Seems like ages ago, even if the tree pictured here remains largely the same.

Today I came across this wonderful patchwork of rape (canola) fields bordered by still leafless trees - a great contrast of colours and form. A definite date in the diary for a revisit next year when perhaps the light will be better!

The Dark Countess (Dunkelgräfin) lived in Hildburghausen and in Eishausen castle for many years. She was under protection of the Duke of Hildburghausen. Her identity is mysterious, but she is said to be a daughter of Queen Marie Antoinette of France.

Windmill Kleine Tiendweg in the Dutch village of Streefkerk, municipality of Molenwaard, Alblasserwaard, South Holland. It is a hollow post mill built before the year 1751 and in operation until 1951.

In the background is another mill: the 'Achtkante Molen', a wooden octagonal thatched windmill.

Cemetery in San Jose, CA. The Holga K-280 is a quirky camera. Some shots are pretty sharp and some like this one make me feel like I haven't got my glasses on. Either the shutter sticks a little or it's my coffee hands.

Not much is known for certain about this structure. It's on private land, so I couldn't get any closer. You can read more about it here: www.romeoriders.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=123

Today we went to Dornburg, which is about 15 km from Jena. On top of a hill and with this beautiful view, there are several small castles from different cultural periods.

Goethe was there very often and even had a room of his own in one of the castles, as they belonged to the Duke of Weimar, Goethe´s friend and employer.

The second part of this day was less beautiful. I went in our garden and was trying to fight against its condition for four hours. Now I am just worn out, and I am dreaming of my bed!

Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!

I thought I was going to panic but everything ended up okay eventually. But everything was frightening and dramatic for a few moments and the sky condition freaked me out. I was glad to have a pulloff when I needed one which was lucky, I was terrified!

I thank my wife for alerting me to this red glow over the hills at our camping spot in Eildon. I ran to get it before it was gone with this 3 - shot landscape panoramic to emphasize the desolate foreground.
