- www.kevin-palmer.com - The last light on Sylvan Peak is reflected in the outlet of East Rosebud Lake. There are over 60 cabins scattered around this lake, which are part of the private community of Alpine.
Back in April 1987 I went on a bus hunting adventure which included a visit to Llandudno where I photographed the Alpine Travel yard. The Bristol VRT / ECW is ATA561L, a former Western National and South Midland machine.

I take this same shot just about every time I stay here, mostly to document the continued collapse of the scaffold sign (which appears to just be plywood panels).

Wildflowers are just beginning to emerge in the high country of the Sierra National Forest. These Alpine Shooting Stars are among the first of the wildflowers to appear in the beautiful and boggy meadows that are at the 6000+ elevation above Bass Lake
I spent yesterday evening in Mt. Rainier National park. It is a breathtaking place, where nature rules and beauty is abundant. I have never shot there before, so this was a real treat for me. I love photography, because it gets me out, and leads me to beautiful places like this. Taken at a bit above 5000ft, it was a lovely afternoon spent around the lake, and in the meadows.
Afterthought: You can see how sloppy my post processing used to be. I added the frame before I was done with PP and when trying to blue up the skies...you can see that it bled over into the frame....doh....

This all black salamander is at home only in the Alps in Europe. At altitudes between 600 and 2.400 m.
It is a fully terrestrial species – living on land in all life stages.
They are ovoviviparous amphibians, meaning that the eggs are carried in the females body and it gives birth living, developed young ones. The "pregnancy" can last around three years, depending on the altitude where the animal lives.
Their skin excretes a poisonous liquid when threatened.
They are protected species in Germany.
Found on the mountain Jägerkamp, at around 1.600 m altitude. Near Spitzingsee, Germany
