Alpine Series I to V
The first open 2-seater Alpines were based on the Hillman 14 and its successor the Humber Hawk. Rootes replaced them with a softer new smaller 2-seater sports convertible coupé based on the current Hillman Minx and its variants. Kenneth Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign in 1956, with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. Howes did some 80 per cent of the overall design. He had been on the Studebaker team at Loewy Studios and then at Ford in Detroit before joining Rootes.
The Alpine was produced in four subsequent revisions until 1968. Total production numbered around 70,000. Production stopped shortly after the Chrysler takeover of the Rootes Group.

What this setting and image reminded me of was those film or Hollywood type images with the moon coming up. By working with a long lens and some nearby landscape, they trick the viewer into seeing this seemingly large view of the moon. Hiking up the Skyline Trail in Mount Rainier National Park that is not the case. Mount Rainier is immense! And wonderful! When I took this image, I worked to keep the nearby foreground in shadows and only slightly pulled that out in post production.
Taken at 2:30 in the night from my camp on Glacier du Géant. The lights to the right are headlamps from people on the face of Mt. Blanc du Tacul on their way to summit of Mt. Blanc. Chamonix, France.
Just south of Park City, UT is the Alpine Loop, Miles of trees and especially Aspen groves. A must see when in the Park City area.
Blackcomb Mountain (2436 m, 7992 ft) with a light autumn dusting of fresh snow in the backdrop, an exhilarating sign that another ski and ride season is just around the corner. Rising mist off the glacial waters of a pristine mountain lake frames the foreground - Whistler-Blackcomb, Coast Mountains, British Columbia.

A sunrise shot taken near a small glacier lake at the foot of mount Clariden in the Swiss Alps. Due to the relatively cool temperatures during the past few days, there was only little water running out of the glacier lake and a lot of ice blocks along the waterside...

Here is one more view from Lambert Park in Alpine, Utah. This shows the scrub brush and plants which naturally grow in the arid foothills. Higher up, the greener mountains are still capped with snow from the wet winter.

It's been a while since a line up of yellow double deckers featured in Alpine Travel's Rhyl depot. Here former Bournemouth Yellow Buses Volvo B7TLs are parked in the depot yard shortly after arrival from Ensignbus.

Thought this was just another Porsche up here on Epsom Downs , but no , seems it is an Alpine A110 . Not something I have seen before and this one looks not long out of the showroom .
The Alpine A110 is a sports car produced by French automobile manufacturer Alpine from 1963 to 1977. The car was styled as a "berlinette", which in the post-WWII era refers to a small enclosed two-door berline, better-known as a coupé.[3] The Alpine A110 succeeded the earlier A108. The car was powered by a succession of Renault engines. A continuation of the A110, developed under Renault-Nissan partnership, was introduced in 2017.
