This remote Valley in the Bernese Alps is alonly I habitet in summer. So fall and winter it's nearly empty. The weather was nice and snow fell until lower elevations two days before.
Female ibex called "étagne" met in the climb to the refuge of the Vanoise pass.

Kyirong སྐྱིད་གྲོང་། county
Kyirong county in South Lato occupies the valleys of the Kyirong Tsangpo River (Trishuli) and its tributaries as well as the adjacent Gungtang-chu headwaters and the basin of lake Pelkhu Tso. To the south stradling the Tibet/Nepal border lie the mighty snow peaks of the Himalayan range: Ganesh Himal 7406 m, Langtang 7232 m and Shishapangma 8012 m. Further north there are trails crossing the high watershed passes into North Lato,and the Yarlung Tsangpo ཡར་ཀླུངས་གཙང་པོ་ (Brahmaputra)valley. The Kyirong gorge and valley form one of Tibet`s most beautiful picturesque alpine regions; and it boasts sites of historic importance, connected with King Songtsen Gampo, Padmasambhava, Milarepa, and Sakya Pandita, among others. In summit area of 14,264' Mt. Evans, Colorado where a deteriorating 1930's era road goes nearly to the top. The blue flowers are Alpine For-Get-Me-Not, (Eritrichium elongatum), Yellow are Alpine Avens, and pink are either Dwarf or Alpine Clover

At 8,000 feet high this alpine lake is a jewel of the Califonia mountains. Off of little traveled route 4. Its a winding highway to paradise. There is a nice campground and the fishing resort across the street has good meals too. Stay a while and take a walk, kayak, canoe and bliss out on the peace and quiet and fresh pine scented arit. Too cold for swimming but great for photographers, painters, kids skipping stones and in the evening you won't fine any better landscape to sit and contemplate while you roast your marsh-mellow over smoky campfire. Hiked into Eldorado Canyon just at sunset to find some spectacular colors and compositions happening!
Here it is a roof detail of the Refuge Savoia, located on the Nivolet plateau (2.534 m), Gran Paradiso National Park, Italy.
Probably not one of the first subjects that may go through your mind to photograph in that stunning alpine area :-) ... but with no doubt these ancient tiles have their own charm, it would have been a pity not to photograph them as well.

Perched high above the tree line, a marmot takes in the vast, serene landscape of the mountains. A quiet moment in a wild paradise (at Fuorcla Murter, 2547m)
Spotted this tree on a bike ride between Scharnitz in Austria and Mittenwald, Germany. Stood out to me as different from the uniform Pine trees.
