My photography has definitely been on the slow side of things these past couple of days. I'm still taking a few shots, but not a lot of real quality stuff. Hoping to get back into the swing of things this coming week. Enjoy! Happy weekend!
The plastic apple is the remnants of some candy the wife brought home from a NYC trip about a month ago, it's been sitting on the living room table ever since, and I'd begun wondering how long until someone took care of it. The real apple is from Kroger, and has surprisingly lasted this far into the week (we went shopping on Sunday), fresh fruit doesn't normally last terribly long around here before being gobbled up by somebody. I put the apple back in its plastic bag in the fridge as seen here...
An afternoon of study turned into an afternoon of procrastination after I went to get an apple out of the cupboard and found this exceptionally photogenic one in my hands. With my new desk lamp and 50mm f1.4 lens, I managed to kill about an hour by photographing it.
I wondered what an apple lifted by a Lego Mindstorms motor would look like. It's attached by invisible mending thread to the motor above.
Two apples - one of these is real & one is fake. Can you tell the difference...and how? :)

Connected (in the Connect group): be careful which apple you try to eat!
I had to wait in this morning while the cavity wall insulation was done, therefore it's just a quick still life of fruit!
Tombstone loves apples so I had bought a bunch and made some apple pie too. I just could not get the WB right on this. It was shot with natural light ...
The apple pie is much better than this photo ...

I'm quite pleased with the effect obtained by using a very simple setup of natural sunlight and a white background.
Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:
Snow White longed for the beautiful apple, and when she saw that the peddler woman was eating part of it she could no longer resist, and she stuck her hand out and took the poisoned half. She barely had a bite in her mouth when she fell to the ground…
The Garden of the Hesperides is Hera's orchard in the west, where a grove of immortality-giving apples grew. The apples were planted from the fruited branches that Gaia gave to her as a wedding gift when Hera accepted Zeus. The Hesperides were given the task of tending to the grove, but occasionally plucked from it themselves. Not trusting them, Hera also placed in the garden a never-sleeping, hundred-headed, dragon, named Ladon, as an additional safeguard.

So I rummaged around the house and though what can I add to the mix...Obviously really and small mason jar and some orange juice. I have to say I really am starting to have some fun with this still life stuff. I might make this the last of these for the moment, but they may make a return!
Lufthansa & apples havent been the sweetest of things lately.
Neither the one you can eat, nor the one you tag on your baggage have received good press on social media.
The real one, as part of the "tasting heimat " revamp has been much derided by frequent flies who have described the handing out of these apples after the main meal as a hygene issue. Then there's the Apple airtags, booming in sales recently with all the lost & delayed hold baggage, Lufthansa banning them from their flights because of bluetooth signals affecting aircraft communications.
Nevertheless, this one is....ready to eat.
