About an hour or so after the doors opened. There was still a line of about 50 people behind me waiting to get in.
These are the photos of Apple in the daylight. She is sitting on her metal time machine, which she will ride in, pending me being able to arrange a comfy padded travel insert. She has a steampunk theme, with appropriate jools (by Jean) and her tiny tophat. She needs the time machine/joolbox just to carry all her loot. Jean sent a lot! Apple is a collaboration doll by Jean Yates and I as our donation to Blythecon 2013 in NYC. We will both be there and so will Apple. Hope to see you all there!
1) This is a compilation of two separate photos that I combined into one. They are photos that I took at an apple orchard when I was apple picking. I think it is a creative representation of fall as apples are a classic symbol of autumn and the changing of the seasons.
2) If I could retake this photo I would see what other things I could've done with the angles, the apples and the branches.
Just playing with watercolor and w/c pencils. If you prefer one apple over the other, let me know why.

This apples are in acrtlic with a basic pink cloth effect done in watercolour. This painitngs started a s a bunch of grapes, but somehow the final result looked more like apples, and so I added the stalks to complete the effect.
The new Apple store at The Summit here in Birmingham is opening tomorrow. They took the construction barrier off this morning.

The Marcher Apple Network had a display of several tables of Herefordshire apples at the Herefordshire Food Festival.
This is my apple snail. Toni and I went to Ft. Myers on Saturday and stopped by a public park that had a lock for the okeechobee river. Someone or some thing had lily pads scattered around and had several dead minnows in the mess and I found this apple snail. It looked alive still so I brought it to the car put it in a McDonalds cup and poured in some bottled water. I hoped he was still alive and turns out.. Alive and well. This apple snail is about the size of a large lemon or lime. Lets see how much he grows getting feed southern food.
