The Savior of the Apple Feast Day (sometimes the Saviour on the Hill) is an Eastern Slavic folk holiday, which is observed on August 19, falling on the Feast of the Transfiguration. It is the most important of the three Saviour (Spas) days. The others are: honey savior, on August 14 (or August 1, Julian Calendar); and nut savior on August 29 (or August 16, Julian Calendar).

So I messed about with an apple and came out with this. It's like a 100mm Macro L Series patch. I would invest, but saving to live and eat next year while studying for my Master's is more important at the moment.

I will try to use it at least once more this month, then maybe I will find a place for it in on a shelf in my house, grouping it with other fun objects for a colorful vignette.
the property i now live on is a 12-acre pinot noir vineyard, but before they put the grapes in, it was an old apple orchard -- thankfully they left a number of trees standing all around the two houses, they are wonderfully gnarled and moss-covered and full of character...
