They breed locally from Oregon south to western Mexico, from Minnesota to the Mississippi Valley and Southeast, and along the Atlantic Coast north to southern New England. They winter regularly north along the Pacific Coast to Oregon, the Southwest, Texas and the Gulf Coast states. On the Atlantic Coast, north to New Jersey. Also in tropical America and warmer parts of the Old World.

I was fortunate to find this young male moose feeding on the new growth willows by the lake shore. I was able to get reasonably close to him with my kayak without spooking him. Considering it was fairly early in the year, he was in good condition and his antlers were developing
Sudden Sun Shower 2…
It was bright and sunny day with no clouds in the sky when suddenly there was this really strong wind, which seemed to come out of nowhere; within seconds the rain started. It was a blowing torrent of rain that came on us so unexpectedly we had no time to get to shelter. that is when i saw this shot the sun filtered through the rain. making shafts of sliver and grey. .

"One Billion Rising is the biggest mass action to end violence against women (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence) in human history. (The reality that): 1 in 3 women across the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. That’s ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. Every February, we rise – in countries across the world – to show our local communities and the world what one billion looks like and shine a light on the rampant impunity and injustice that survivors most often face. We rise through dance to express joy and community and celebrate the fact that we have not been defeated by this violence. We rise to show we are determined to create a new kind of consciousness – one where violence will be resisted until it is unthinkable."
