Geluk met de zon had ik op 6 maart 2021 toen ik de LTE 186 941 in Golm fotograferen wilde. Na meer dan een uur wachten, had de stralend blauwe lucht plaats gemaakt voor vele wolken en eigenlijk ging ik er al vanuit, dat het niets meer zou worden. Uiteindelijk lukte het toch en was ik meer dan verheugd met de opname. De trein reed door werkzaamheden dwars door Potsdam en Berlijn...
Ein wenig Glück hatte ich am 6. März als ich die LTE 186 941 - welche aufgrund von Bauarbeiten mit ihrem KLV Zug nach Poznan über Potsdam Hbf und Berlin Westhafen fuhr - bei Golm fotografierte. In der Stunde wo ich warten musste, hatte der strahlend blauer Himmel Platz gemacht für viel Wolken und ich hatte schon damit gerechnet, dass es nicht mehr klappt mit einem Sonnenbild.
Glücklicherweise passte es am Ende doch noch.. wie man sehen kann :-)
After having waited for over an hour (in which the beautiful blue skies had made way for a ton of clouds) I was ready to throw in the towel on March 6th 2021.
I wanted to make a sunny picture of LTE 186 941 which was headed for Poznan in Poland with a freight train and which was rerouted via Potsdam Hbf because of work being done on the Berlin outer ring. Unfortunately, the train was waiting roughly 10 kilometers from where I was standing for over an hour (during which the weather conditions changed).
In the end though, everything worked out and I was able to get the shot I wanted...
This obliging Roadrunner gave me an eye-level pose. And I thanked him!

Spa 6 Hours 2021 - Historic Touring Car Challenge and Tony Dron Trophy with U2TC and STCC [Motor Racing Legends]
On Thursday 9th December 2021, go-coach hosted Volvo's brand new Electric BZL for the day whilst it performed vibration testing over Fastrack routes A and B. Arriving in Dartford from an overnight stay in London it first worked a return working on route A to Bluewater and back (the outbound trip also visited Amazon LCY3) upon returning to Dartford Home Gardens it then worked to Temple Hill, Joyce Green Lane Terminus and performed a rounder on route B. The bus stayed overnight at the depot in Swanley before returning to Volvo on Friday.
The newest bus in the country at the time and so far the only example built, Volvo's BZL Electric Demonstrator is seen at the South Lake stop on the Kent Fastway near Littlebrook on the outskirts of Dartford whilst performing vibration testing. Currently the vehicle is not registered and was running on The Bus Doctor trade plates 42199. Wednesday 9th December 2021.
The vehicle itself has been built using the specifications provided by KCC and is scheduled to come back to North Kent in 2022 for a full evaluation of the Fastrack network.

Movement blur imparted to a flowering Christmas bush.
Another photo from Troon Harbour area... seen this number and had to go back a bit and change to my Jupiter 11 - 135mm lens as got too close and the wall got in the way.
Taken on my old Russian Fed 4 camera and 35mm B&W ISO 400 film...
I had no idea Caspian Terns skimmed like Skimmers.
Either he was imitating the many Skimmers that were nearby or he was drinking water.
I can't imagine that he was fishing, but you never know.

Op 6 december 2021 werd de Euro9000 2019 301 de grens over gebracht en verbleef een paar dagen in Blerick. Hij werd door RRF naar Zwolle gebracht van waaruit hij voornamelijk 's nachts test ritten op de Hanzelijn reed. Ook daarna heeft hij een aantal keren over de Veluwe lijn gereden, die ik steeds miste.
Op 9 april waren er werkzaamheden tussen Deventer en Amersfoort en kreeg ik een melding dat de Euro9000 een testrit vanuit Bad-Bentheim, via Zwolle naar Amersfoort zou rijden.
Het weer was wel een beetje de spelbreker, net toen de lok Harderwijk passeerde, pats weg was de zon! Jammer.
Rail Force One heeft aangekondigd de lok in Nederland te gaan inzetten, wellicht krijg ik dan een nieuwe kans.

Oggi avresti 11 anni e c'è una piccola parte di me che spera ancora di vederti tornare per giocare di nuovo insieme, fosse anche per un giorno soltanto.
Today (June 24, 2021) is 10 years since the sweetest Sissi left the house without returning.
You'd be 11 today and there's a small part of me still hoping to see you come back to play together again, even if it were for one day.

During the summer of 2021 the transport of caustic soda from Heimboldshausen to Sehnde was temporarily paused because the level of water in the rivers allowed the soda to be put in the rivers, but in September 2021 the transport by rail from Heimboldshausen to Sehnde resumed. Under the new contract is is no longer Erfurter Bahn Gesellschaft (EBS) that is acting as main contractor, but Holzlogistik und Güterbahn (HLG). On 25 September 2021 HLG EuroDual 159 216 takes an empty train towards Heimbioldshausen en passes Widdershausen. The train would end at Heringen this Saturday afternoon and be taken to Heimboldshausen on Monday.

Playing around with my old Pentax DSLR and a few lenses I've rarely, or never used on a digital camera. The weather was clear and sunny, I took an opportunity to take a few bokeh shots while the sun was still well above the horizon. October 2021.
Taken with Pentax K20D digital camera and smc Pentax-M 50mm F4 Macro manual focus macro lens. Wide-open aperture, at minimal focusing distance to have as much bokeh as possible. I'm positively surprised!

Two things I’ve liked a lot this project that I didn’t the first time: flash and black and white. The first time around I definitely favored a purplish monochrome filter but tbh I have no idea how to recreate it.
Lazy Sunday! Grocery shopping with papa per usual. Then later on I went to Target and got some makeup and mud masks. When I got home I painted my nails and watched Sabrina the Teenage Witch. (It’s on Hulu!)
One of my targets for 2021 was to hopefully track down yet another rarely recorded species for the North East, the 24-spot Ladybird.
Favouring rough grassland this tiny Ladybird is not an aphid hunter but is a vegetarian feeding on plant matter especially Red Campion which we have plenty of in Northumberland despite there being only a couple of county records for the ladybird, as ever this will be a lack of people recording round here.
With its favoured plants now in full flower I’ve spent hours checking them and the surrounding grasses without success. I was then trying to photograph a rare bee on a different flower at Prudhoe Riverside when my eye was drawn to a dark Orange beetle on an adjacent plant and it was mission accomplished.
It walked up and down various blades of grass, it’s diminutive size, just 3-4mm long, meant the grass didn’t even bend when it reached the very end.
