On a still, clear and very dark night back in March of 2021, I was blessed to be out photographing the starry band and galactic core of the Milky Way as it rose over mountains located southeast of Braidwood, Australia. Not only did I capture the glories of the stars, nebulae and dark dust clouds as they hung there in the sky, but the smooth waters of Jembaicumbene Creek provided me with a reflection of all of those wonders, too.
A gasp of ground fog hung over the paddocks away towards the mountains while the beams spreading out from my LED light banks lit the lush grass along the creek’s banks and beyond. Atmospheric airglow lit the sky with the beautiful greenish hues you can see in my photo. After missing the last 15 weeks of Milky Way season due to my city’s COVID lockdown, looking at a picture like this reminds me that there’ll be plenty more chances to shoot the majestic Milky Way when the new year rolls around.
I shot six single-frame photos that I stitched together in software to create this vertical panorama. For each of those individual images, I used a Canon EOS 6D camera fitted with a Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art lens @ f/1.6, using an exposure time of 10 seconds @ ISO 6400. The camera was mounted on a Nodal Ninja 3 panoramic head.
Salix eleagnos (Salicaceae) 075 21
Salix eleagnos is a species of flowering plant in the family Salicaceae, native to central and southern Europe and southwest Asia.
Growing to 3 m tall by 5 m broad, it is an erect bushy deciduous shrub with narrow grey-green leaves up to 20 cm long, which turn yellow in autumn (fall).

One of my all favorite areas in the American Southwest is around Page and Kanab. I travelled uncountable times through this area for the last 14 years and there is still so much to discover! On my last trip I got for the first time to the lofty heights of the Paria Overview. It took me eight stitched vertical frames (original file 18K x 7.5K pixels) to be able to take the entire landscape with Colorado coming out of the Horseshoe Bend canyon, opening to Lee’s Ferry, being joined by the Paria River (coming from the right) to finally combined enter Marble Canyon and disappear in the far where Grand Canyon is located.
I really recommend to amplify this image to is max as there are a multitude of details all the way through!

A July 2021 work trip to Glasgow afforded some spare time to capture the bus scene at Buchanan Bus Station with its almost non-stop movements spanning 57 'stances'. As it was my first visit I opted for the entrance/exit for photting purposes. Maybe next time I will go a wandering?

Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 27/03/2021 -- Macro .
Well time to dust off the Sigma 105 and get down to some close work , have tried a number of things from flowers to spiders ( checkout the spider in the first comment box ! ) but came back to a first idea using the 70 -300 mm lens -- not on the camera but in front of it !! So this is my shot for the challenge involving some contacts of mine , the contacts on the base of the lens passing info back and fourth between the lens and the camera and in this shot they are Canon Contacts . The camera people in their wisdom make all the mounts for lens to camera so that Nikon will not fit Pentax that will not fit Canon and so on !!
I did get in a bit closer on a couple of shots but that was to much more like abstract !!

Minulý rok bylo možné tohoto krasavce spatřit i na vlacích linky R18, dnes ho lze spatřit jen na obratech Sp 1762/1773. Fotka byla pořízena v úseku Popovice u Uherského Hradiště - Vésky na trati 341 CZ.

Larix decidua (Pinaceae) 133 21
Larix decidua (European larch) is a species of larch native to the mountains of central Europe, in the Alps and Carpathian Mountains as well as the Pyrenees, with disjunct lowland populations in northern Poland and southern Lithuania.
Larix decidua is a medium-size to a large deciduous coniferous tree reaching 25–45 m tall, with a trunk up to 1 m diameter (exceptionally, to 55 m tall and 2 m diameter). The leaves are needle-like, light green, 2–4 cm long which turn bright yellow before they fall in the autumn, leaving the pale yellow-buff shoots bare until the next spring.
It is very cold tolerant, able to survive winter temperatures down to at least -50 °C, and is among the tree line trees in the Alps, reaching 2400 m altitude, though most abundant from 1000–2000 m.

Ook werd hier het Spoorwegmuseum bezocht om wat testen uit te voeren met de MP van het NSM.
Hier zien we de Motorpost voorbij rijden langs het voormalig station Biltstraat (Utb) in Utrecht.

Op 29 maart 2021 werden de Bammetjes weer aan het spoor genuttigd toen daar de 1824 "Nicole" van Strukton Rail passeerde met 8 MFS100 wagens en de 704 achterop. Passage van trein 55171 naar Lage-Zwaluwe (en Roosendaal) bij Schalkwijk in een lekker zonnetje.

NS Flirt treinstel 2513 als LM (ledig Materieel) 89415 (dank Sionrail) onderweg van Zutphen naar Eindhoven en vanwege werkzaamheden te Arnhem moet ie een omweg via Deventer - Amersfoort en Utrecht nemen.
Zodoende een Flirt treinstel op een ongebruikelijke plek.
Inmiddels is de "Verfdokter" (www.verfdokter.com/) bezig om een fraaie muurschildering op grijze wand perron 1/2 aan te brengen, op perron 3/4 is een fraaie muurschildering gereed en afgebeeld is de watertoren aan Vaartsche Rijn.

Jeder hat so sein eigenes Hobby... muss der Angler wohl am 19. Juni 2021 gedacht haben als er mit seinem Sohn versuchte Fische zu fangen und staunte, dass sich da oben auf der Brücke jemanden mit Leiter und Fotokamera hinstellte..
In diesem Fall war es um die Raildox 187 317 zu fotografieren welche mit einem Kesselcontainerzug gen Süden unterwegs war...
Iedereen heeft zo zijn eigen hobby... hebben de hobbyvisser en zijn zoon waarschijnlijk op 19 juni 2021 gedacht toen ze in hun bootje dobberden en probeerden vissen te vangen (en vol verbijstering zagen hoe iemand op de brug met een ladder en fotocamera een trein wilde fotograferen - in dit geval de Raildox 187 317 die met een tankcontainertrein richting zuiden onderweg was en over de brug over de Templiner See reed...
Some of us spend our free time watching trains, others go fishing.. and that is all good. Nevertheless, on June 19th 2021, the dad and son sitting in their boat where wondering what the hell that guy was doing there up on the bridge with a ladder and camera. When the Raildox engine 187 317 passed by with a southbound freight train though, they knew :-)
Built in the 1840’s, Kemp Street 2021 is an attractive row of small brightly coloured terraced houses, some currently selling for £500k plus. But walking down the street its industrial past can be seen.
Number 34 has an original sign still visible, which reveals that in a former life it was used as a warehouse or butchers for Argentinean frozen meat. 100 years ago it was the Camden Arms.
Next door at number 35 a sign for the Evening News is clearly visible. In 1869 it was in use as a corn and coal merchant.
Number 29, on the opposite side was another pub, the Blue Anchor.
