HFF! One of three photos taken recently when walking in my Humber Bay Shores neighbourhood in Toronto. The water in this fountain has been turned off since the pandemic began in 2020.

This gorgeous young bird was on the ground under a large tree a couple of nights ago. My friend who I was with nearly walked into her in some longish grass. We stood our distance trying to see through our long lenses if she looked ok, and she appeared ok, uninjured and moving around ok, and she took shelter in the shade of the tree. We watched her for a little bit from a distance, worried a bit about off-lead dogs and the such, and I reported her presence to a Park Ranger who said they would check on her later. There were parent birds in the area, so if that is the case then the best advice is to leave the bird alone if it looks uninjured.
Returning the next morning there was no sign of her, and no tell-tale feathers etc that I would expect to see if a predator had got her, so am just going to assume she was re-united with her parents. Fingers crossed.

DeltaRail loco's 243 145 and 559 are bringing back an empty coal train from Oberhausen to Frankfurt (Oder).
The parallel running S-Bahn train nearly crushed the picture, but in the end managed to stay within the chosen frame - even without having to use Photoshop :-)
