I'm gonna write 10 random facts about myself, Just because i am bored...

1. I love canon, and cant use any other camera... Nikon makes me crazy!

2. my nickname "leetalav" comes from the two norwegian words "lita" and "lav" which means "small" and "low".... this nickname is because of my height..

3. I sleep veery heavily... my mom once came in to my room and vacuumed it while i slept... didn't notice a thing...

4. I hardly have any moles... at all....hahah...

5. I am a very loud person. people always hush me..

6. I often sleep better on couches than in beds.... I heard thats common tho?

7. I havent had my natural haircolour since i was like 12

8. I always wear one and the same ring on my right ringfinger, a ring that i got from my exboyfriend back in 2008.. if i dont wear this ill end up scratching my finger till i bleed...): you can see the ring in the picture btw.

9. I get a hiccup at least once a day.. at least... this amuses people somehow...

10. I am very allergic to fish and almost died once when my own grandmother tried to feed some to me ^^, (I dont think she knew it was fish though...dont worry)

Do we, in any wicked way, have anything in common of the above?

I snapped a couple of pictures of the resort I'm staying at this week. These shots are a departure from my usual work because of two reasons:

1) I went with a black & white post processing.

2) A flash wasn't used for these shots (It would have been nearly useless anyway, of course).

I simply took these shots to shot my friends what kind of place this was - unfortunately, my vocabulary proved insufficient to the task. Fortunately, my camera told the story much clearer than I could.

Even though these started out as very colorful images, I really liked the black & white post processing, so that's what I'm posting.

I think it was a kit (can't remember) and it was an AM tuner - so medium wave only .... but good enough for Radio Luxembourg and the fledgling BBC Radio 1. I wired it into the amplifier of my mono record player .... to take to Uni. Sort of (even for the time)'low-tech' functionality, but it worked surprisingly well.

(•) – The-Lockheed-Martin-HC-130-P-Hercules-The-Combat-K.I.N.G-1-I-is an extended-range version of the C-130 Hercules transport. HC-130 crews provide expeditionary, all weather personnel recovery capabilities to our Combatant Commanders and Joint/Coalitions partners worldwide.

Mission

The mission of the HC-130P/N "King" is to rapidly deploy to austere airfields and denied territory in order to execute , all weather personnel recovery operations anytime...anywhere. King crews routinely perform high and low altitude personnel & equipment airdrops, infiltration/exfiltration of personnel, helicopter air-to-air refueling, and forward area refueling point missions.

When tasked, the aircraft also conducts humanitarian assistance operations, disaster response, security cooperation/aviation advisory, emergency aeromedical evacuation, casualty evacuation, noncombatant evacuation operations, and, during the Space Shuttle program, space flight support for NASA.

Features

Modifications to the HC-130P/N are improved navigation, threat detection and countermeasures systems. The aircraft fleet has a fully-integrated inertial navigation and global positioning systems, and night vision goggle, or NVG, compatible interior and exterior lighting. It also has forward-looking infrared, radar and missile warning receivers, chaff and flare dispensers, satellite and data-burst communications.

The HC-130 can fly in the day; however, crews normally fly night at low to medium altitude levels in contested or sensitive environments, both over land or overwater. Crews use NVGs for tactical flight profiles to avoid detection to accomplish covert infiltration/exfiltration and transload operations. To enhance the probability of mission success and survivability near populated areas, crews employ tactics that include incorporating no external lighting or communications, and avoiding radar and weapons detection.

Drop zone objectives are done via personnel drops and equipment drops. Rescue bundles include illumination flares, marker smokes and rescue kits. Helicopter air-to-air refueling can be conducted at night, with blacked out communication with up to two simultaneous helicopters. Additionally, forward area refueling point operations can be executed to support a variety of joint and coalition partners.

Background

The HC-130P/N is the only dedicated fixed-wing combat search and rescue platform in the Air Force inventory. The 71st and 79th Rescue Squadrons in Air Combat Command, the 550th Special Operations Squadron in Air Education and Training Command, the 920th Rescue Group in Air Force Reserve Command and the 106th Rescue Wing, 129th RQW and 176th Wing in the Air National Guard operate the aircraft.

First flown in 1964, the aircraft has served many roles and missions. It was initially modified to conduct search and rescue missions, provide a command and control platform, in-flight-refuel helicopters and carry supplemental fuel for extending range and increasing loiter time during search operations.

In April 2006, the continental U.S. search and rescue mission was transferred back to Air Combat Command at Langley AFB, Va. From 2003 to 2006, the mission was under the Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Previously, HC-130s were assigned to ACC from 1992 to 2003. They were first assigned to the Air Rescue Service as part of Military Airlift Command.

They have been deployed to Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey in support of operations Southern and Northern Watch, Allied Force, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. HC-130s also support continuous alert commitments in Alaska and the Horn of Africa.

There was an extra day this year! 2-29-2020!

Left the house today and it was warm and nice out. By the time I got to my spot it was windy, cloudy and cold, and me without a jacket. Had my spot pretty much alone for the 4-5 hours I was there. A few trucks drove through etc.. With the wind I had a hard time telling when a freight was coming as I couldn't hear them. I can usually hear the whistle from either above or below my spot, so I know which way they're coming from. Still don't know on which track.

There's 4 tracks, 3 close by and one much further down the hill. If I stay towards the middle between rails 2-3, and 1, I can move back and forth pretty quickly, they're about 1/4 mile apart. But certain times of the day I'm going to be shooting one rail or the other into the sun unless I run, and I'll be running in desert sand. Not as easy as it would seem. So some shots I do my best to edit in post so the backlighting isn't f-ing up my shots.

Anyway, as always, I saw some cool pieces today, got out of the house, and had some fun.

Thanks to all the writers, keep doin' what you do!!

1. I like to run. I have too much energy for my own good so I started marathon running and so far that’s been doing me well.

2. I like to hang out with people. Not sure if you can call that a hobby, but it’d be mine if it could be one.

3. I have an interest in technology. I like making computers do things I tell them to. I don’t like it when your computer’s being a whore and you need me to help you with it.

4. I talk to myself frequently, especially when left alone for too long. If I’m left alone for too long I’d go pretty nuts. Not Jack Nicholson nuts, Bart Simpson when he had a cast nuts.

5. It drives me mental when people print things unnecessarily, like emails. Printers are for things like recipes (unless you have a saran-wrap covered computer in the kitchen or something) or directions/map (if you’re without a GPS/PDA).

6. I go to the local pub at least once a week... setting myself up to be one of those old dudes who goes to the pub for breakfast on Sundays and doesn’t leave ‘til the match is done.

7. I once threw my shoe at a raccoon. True story.

8. I can’t concentrate when I’m too hot. If it’s too hot at work I might as well go home because I won’t get anything done there and it’s a nice 19 degrees here.

9. It confuses me when people tape flowers and wreaths to telephone poles because their loved ones died near them on the road. If I die in a car accident, plant a tree in a nice garden and think about me there not by the side of a highway with trucks chugging by.

10. If you didn’t have to pay a mortgage you could get by on very little cash.

11. Don’t ask me, ask Google. It doesn’t get irritated or snippy with you when you ask a stupid question. Just don’t type google into Google...

12. I over think everything formal. (Letters, occasions, government forms, meetings, etc...)

13. I don’t think at all socially. Thought to mouth in under 2 milliseconds.

14. I don’t want to be around when the hills come alive to the sound of music and conquer Berlin.

15. Robert Service the poet is my great great great great great great great great great uncle. Robert Service the teacher is my uncle, who is incidentally also great.

16. I like to go camping and fishing but find it hard to find the time to go. Cottages are so much easier and girls will come with you.

This is my wishlist. Not in any particular order. Except for number 1.

1. I want to be healthy. Now and in the future. I am tired of feeling pain all the time. I have a Plantar fasciitis in my right foot and it causes me to limp. And limping gives me severe backpain. I want to live without medication.

2. I want a pet mouse. Or two. Me and my BF are both very allergic to animals. We would looove a dog but this will never happen so we thought a mouse would be great. The are small and cute.

3. I want to travel. All over. Everywhere!!!

4. I want to live by the sea one day. I love the sea. Couldn't breathe without it.

5. I want love in my life. I'm in love and want to be the this way for the rest of my life.

6. I want peace. Not only world peace but I want to live a peacefull life without any hurry. I want to be able to sit down and breathe and live without timetables. I'm able to do this right now and I want it to stay this way.

7.More Blythes! Very simple wish ;)

8. I want a kid one day. If I won't be able to have one then I want all the kids in the world to be loved as much as I would love a one of my own.

9. I want to write and illustrate a children's book. From start to finish.

That's it. Very simple wishes. Now I tag everyone. :)

Hi all,

I do apologize for the silence. I am back in Barcelona after a couple of days in Rome. It was wonderful but I walked for miles. I had bought comfortable shoes for it but Vueling lost my bag. Still don't have it. I had to go shopping in Rome for clothes. If you know me, you know that I hate shopping for clothes. Ugh. Do no fly Vueling. Budget airline turned out to cost more than I wanted.

I got back to BCN on 8/28 Friday night and took the Aerobus to get back to the apartment. It was an odd sensation coming back to BCN. It felt like coming home.

I had to get a lot of cables replaced but still need the one that I can upload my photos with, so here's a funny one of me taken with Photobooth. Forgive me if I look tired, I just came back from a day on the hop on hop off bus tour. I saw lots and tomorrow, I visit the great La Sagrada Familia.

It's beautiful weather here even though it really has cooled down quite a bit from Rome's heat.

I am doing well - I miss all of you but there is still much to explore. Worry not :-) I'll be home soon enough.

Trying to get to Firstsite in Colchester, I was heading around Priory Street through Priory Street Car Park when I saw these Roman Walls. But there was no entrance to get through here to go Firstsite.

So ended up going all the way around to East Hill and High Street before finding the road to Firstsite.

The wall follows the curve of Priory Street, past the ruins of St Botolph's Priory (English Heritage), in the south east corner of Roman Colchester. You can easily see Roman bricks built into the ruined priory arches and walls. The wall is not in a very good through this section, but there are several medieval bastions (small projecting towers) built into the thickness of the wall. The bastions were erected at the time of the Peasant's Revolt in 1380. This was an era of great social unrest; nearby St John's Abbey gatehouse was built after the abbey was attacked by peasant rebels, and the town authorities obviously feared further outbreaks of violence. This section of wall was heavily damaged in the Civil War Siege of Colchester and 1648, and was repaired with profuse use of red brick.

2. Probably of the late C3. Originally some 3,100 yds in length, forming a rectangle of about 1,000 yds east-west, and 510 yds north-south with rounded corners. Traceable throughout except in the south-west corner where it was much damaged by the 1648 siege. The 3 most important visible lengths are on Balkerne Hill on the west including the Balkerne Gate (qv), in the Castle Park on the north including the north-east Postern Gate and the great vaulted drain under, and the south-east corner in Priory Street.

Built of layers of septaria, interspersed with 4-fold course of brick, the lowest course going right through the wall, with a core of rubble and cement. Considerable lengths of the wall still reach a height of 15 ft, and it is on average 8 ft thick.

The wall was strengthened in each corner and where it was met by the internal streets by an internal solid tower the base of one can be seen in the stretch on Balkerne Hill. The wall was extensively repaired during the reign of Richard II, 1389-1399 when it was strengthened by the addition of external semi-circular solid bastions, 4 of these remain in Priory Street. The wall was further considerably damaged in the 1648 seige, there is much brick patching in evidence in Priory Street, dating probably from the early C18.

A további építkezések a II. világháború utáni időre esnek. Az intézmény fejlesztésében és a gyógyító munkában egyaránt kiemelkedő dr. Imre József mellszobrát (Pásztor János alkotása) a parkban helyezték el 1928-ban. A kórház kiváló orvosainak (ifj. Imre József, Ormos Pál, Deutsch Béla) emlékét márványtábla őrzi a sebészeti épület falán.

"1- Find a cool, random, picture that helps describe one of your questions.

2- Write 20 things that NO ONE really knows about you (if you don't have many things, you can shorten the amount)

I was tagged by Blablette. Well, first time I make this kind of thing. It was pretty long, but fun. :P

1. I am a student in materials sciences.

2. I draw since I am really young. When I was little, my mother bathed us at 17h00 and then put us in front of a big pen box with paper. Every day.

3. I looooove waffles.

4. I play the flute in an amateur orchestra but it's really fun.

5. I don't like salads in general, but I plan to taste all the fishes in the world (except whales and sharks maybe... -_-).

6. I like BJDs since two years, but I like to make them even more.

7. I am not a very sociable person. I am shy and unable to discuss very long with someone who doesn't share any of my interests.

8. As a respected materials student, my favorite hobby beside art is to break things with big machines.

9. I procastinate very often.

10. I only came back to art since 2008. I had lost the interest when I was in junior high.

11. I am gonna make a field trip in July with my pals from university in Japan!

12. The bunch of drawings you see in the picture is only a half of what I made in three years. The rest I gave away or don't like it any more or is not finished.

13. I don't sell bookmarks at my boot in Japan conventions but I make new one every years, so I can give them away afterward.

14. I am definitively attempting resin cast this summer.

15. When I am on a project, I am like a cave woman: I foget to make my hair and sometime to eat.

16. I have two sisters. Most of the time, they are a pain, but sometimes we can get along very well.

17. I love manga, and especially anime. Yes. I'm such a kid.

18. I want to read Da Vinci code since its release, but still haven't.

19. I wish I would work soon.

20. I don't like to swim, and water things in general. I am not comfortable with water (except hot bathes :P).

Guess who begins transitioning into her new role as Coordinator of Adult Public Services at her current place of employ on July 1? I'll be overseeing both reference and circulation and am really looking forward to it!

Between Missile Hangar 1 and Launch Pad 1 [?] I found these old, Wooden Crates.

Frame 1. I wanted some extension but the lugset I was using didn't have any rise, so I used some .58 tubing as a sleeve over the headtube and then filed it down. Turned out pretty well, perhaps I should offer my services as "The Human Lathe".

I am not that good at HDR, and this is i suppose pretty awful. But here goes anyways.

After electrolysis visit #11. I think these are the last electrolysis pictures. It's not that suspenseful: Hair got less and less, as more electrolysis happened. By about 27 hours (more than triple what I've had in this picture), I stopped shaving. There's still hair, and I still go weekly, sometimes more than once... But it's to attack a very small amount of stubborn hair in the most stubborn place -- around the mouth.

Transition Progress at this point: I had seen my endocrinologist/therapist 3X now, and been on hormones 1.5 months (since 8/1). I had been living as a full-time female for just 1 week (since 9/15). My boobs had been sore [growing] fr just 2 weeks (since 9/4). My secondary therapist had been seen 4X, then replaced with one I'd seen 3X. I weighed 147lbs (down 50lbs). Hair removal included 11 electrolysis treatments (totaling 8.5 hours); 23 laser hair removal sessions (38 area treatments: 10 face/neck, 7 chest, 6 leg/armpit, 5 Brazilian, 4 ear); and at-home IPL hair removal on arms for 3 months (since 6/17). Latisse for eyelash lengthening for 5 months (since 4/17). 2 dental implants. Pierced ears. Dyed/layered hair. Female wardrobe replacement was up to 128 items. Total transition expenditures were over $10,000 at this point.

Still fat-looking in the gut, though. Need liposuction, even when at a healthy weight, in order to get feminine figure.

Mixed reviews on these tyres according to my web research. They are reasonably cheap and perhaps it is a case of 'one gets what one pays for'? Apparently they are rather noisy on the road, and as they are a low profile tyre, it may pay to part with your cash if you desire a low noise-low profile tyre.
