Japan Day in Central Park, New York City

 

Japan Day is a free Japanese cultural festival with family activities, food, contemporary and traditional entertainment and performances from Japan.

 

Past Japan Day guests included AKB48 (popular idol group), Cobu (famous urban-style taiko group), Jero (famous American enka singer) and Sonim (Jpop singer/actress) to name a few.

The 10th Annual Japan Day Festival in NYC took place on Sunday May 8th 2016

 

Japan Day takes place at the Central Park Bandshell and Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. (71st area)

 

Central Park was established in 1857

 

Central Park is the most visited urban park in the United States and one of the most filmed locations in the world.

 

Central Park was designated a National Historic Landmark (listed by the U.S. Department of the Interior and administered by the National Park Service) in 1962.

 

Central Park is between 59th and 110th street in New York City and is free to the public.
