Te veel bewolking gister voor een kleurrijke zonsondergang. Toch liet de zon zich nog heel even zien.
2 exposures, één apart voor de ondergaande zon.
Too much clouds for a colourful sunset, but the sun did manage to show itself, just before going down on the horizon.
2 exposures, one only for the setting sun.

The Rotterdam Zuid municipal library is integral to the Theater Zuidplein ( 2020). It's not extensive but rather pleasing and friendly staffed.
The Zuidplein Theatre is a development of the 'Hart van Zuid', a public-private partnership organization primarily focused on the Zuidplein and the Ahoy events complex—the participants: the Municipality of Rotterdam, Ballast Nedam and Heijmans.
It was designed by 'De Zwarte Hond' (Bart van Kampen).
This is the last one of the Bibliotheek op Zuid mini-series.
This is number 473 of Interiors and 26 of the new Libraries album.

This was captured during a delightful walk along the beach. The banks and large flakes of yellow-coloured foam are a natural phenomenon. These are the remains of dead algae, specifically the species ‘phaeocystis globosa’, generally called foam algae or brown slime algae. The wave action whips these remains into foam.

Europe The Netherlands, Zuid Holland, Rotterdam, Rijnhaven, Katendrecht, Cordico factory, Silo building, Street art, Puddles (cut from B&T).
Shown here is the entrance to the silo building of Cordico, formerly a Co-Op factory, then Latenstein’s Meelfabriek (flour factory). It consists this silo and a mill building on the quay. In the building, all parts of the manufacturing process have been given their own proper part, each with their own construction and their own architectural expression. Architect: J.J.M. Vegter / engineering: A. Aronsohn.
The Codrico company produces semi-finished products for the food and animal feed industry by processing maize, grains and other agricultural products. In 2008, the total production volume was 200,000 tons. In 2017, the company entered into an intensive collaboration with industry peer Meneba.
It's the last operational factory of Katendrecht.

Europe, Netherlands, Zuid Holland, Spijkenisse, De Stoep Theatre (UN/Ben van Berkel) (uncut)
Spijkenisse is the result of the 'groeikernenbeleid', a national policy to manage sub-urbanization in a more or less controlled way and foster the growth of a number of towns and villages in the vicinity of big cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam to accommodate their fast growing population. And as generally is the case this implies that Spijkenisse is not of great urbanistic or architectural splendour. For me personally it was always a 'drive through town'.
But the new 'De Stoep' theatre (2014) now offers a real attraction. The theatre was created by UN/Ben van Berkel so there's a nice plasticity and flow of space and a fascinating poly-rhythm in the treatment of its surfaces to be enjoyed. And it's elegantly implanted in the redeveloped urban fabric of the centre too. Check out: Theater De Stoep.
Shown here is the metal and glass side façade with the foyer and on top the big hall (600 seats). The cricular holes of the façade's cladding reveal the outer shell of this hall. And the colour of this shell reveals the main colour of its interior.

The front façade of the neo-modernist (with a constructivist tendency) Leiden Central Station is historically the third station on this spot. It was designed by Harry Reijnders (Nederlandse Spoorwegen) in 1987 and opened in 1996.
