Just want to say that I wish all of you a very Happy Easter ... hope that you all spend it with family & friends, gathered around the table with good food & happy faces smiling back at you! ... I enjoy each & every moment of time that I can find to come here & look at all of the wonderful Art that you create & share ... Carolyn :) P.S. there is a purple & pink version in my stream for those of you who love color as much as I do! ;)
Weekly Challenge #122: "Grid (un)Locked - here I've used Tangle String Number 54
thanks for your visit :)
This is the original piece, & was just scanned in & showed up this way, colors are true or very close to it ... I've done 2 more variations of colors & a B&W in my photo program to stretch what I can get out of a piece for card making or prints etc., this was done on 8 1/2x11 black cardstock , I drew the design with a pale green metallic marker & then came back in & added color with Prisma colored pencils :)
found some Bingo dabbers, the lilac dabbed nicely, i dabbed the blue and a huge blob came out so I thought to myself ' i can't have only one blob - it would look suspicious :)) so then I had an idea, make some more blobs, turn the book upright and allow the 'paint' to drip..... and so be it.
I'm happy with the way this turned out, especially as I used 2 patterns that I came up with when I awoke this morning. (I haven't seen them anywhere before - when I post the pattern I will add how they came to be) I'm calling one 'Thumbkin' and the other is versatile....the original idea is called 'offerings', however surprise surprise, when you turn it upside down it looks like a person in a robe - so I'm calling it ' the robe'... thanks for looking
This was an odd shape - I didn't realise it only had 7 points until after I started doing one - then I remembered what Erin wrote on her Blogg - it was different than other templates. It was interesting to say the least - not really sure how I was going to tackle it - I ended up doing 3 very different looking Zendalas.
thanks for looking.

A couple of patterns that came to me whilst on the phone yesterday. Gella reminds me of little stick men and Zoose reminds me of those top hats out of Dr Suess' children's books. enjoy! :))
"mum, I need a new book bag"
"where's last years?"
Dont know. I need another one."
"well, there are two perfectly good ones there, pick one"
"but they have Boys names on"
"I'll fix that. Get me a vivid" '(sharpie)
result, one perfectly acceptable book bag!
This was fun to do, and I actually Zentangled in the true sense. No pencil, no rubber, no plan. Just did!
You know me ... have to add at least one tinted negative ... they are always fun & can be used for other projects later. :)
This is done on sage coloured cardstock - I used some red, white and yellow Prismacolour pencils in several sections, still maintaining the colour of the cardstock.
thanks for looking - have a lovely weekend! off to bed for me :)
This week Erin ( www.thebrightowl.com ) has asked that we fill the template with one/some of our favourite tangles, the ones that make us 'the artists that we are.
In this one I've used a Sepia coloured pen and one of my favourite blue gel pens.
Fave patterns here are: Ixorus, Ragz, Organza
Thank you for looking - comments are most welcome.
Still getting round to replying to your comments - thank you :)
A zentangle with no filled in sections (so hard to resist when making!) to make a coloouring page. This is available as pdf in my etsy shop :-)
