Latest coloring page, this will be the color print to go along with the B&W for a new coloring packet ... actually this is number 10, only 2 more to go & then I'm off to the printers ... I did this piece using Copic Markers
This design appears in the Houses of Parliament and is part of the interior design when rebuilt in the Victorian era. Similar to 'Buttercup'.
An original design which reminded me of the Aztec square pyramid temples. Lots of opportunity to enhance the 3D aspect with shading :)
Hi everyone! ... here is my 2nd example of what one of my coloring pages can look like ... I did this one with Derwent Colour soft pencils. :) TODAY IS STARTING OFF VERY WELL, ... I JUST FOUND OUT A FEW MINUTES AGO THAT MY INTERVIEW & PIECES THAT I DID FOR KURETAKE WILL BE FEATURED ON THIER BLOGSPOT THIS MONTH AND ALSO THAT I'VE JUST BEEN ADDED TO THE KURETAKE DESIGN TEAM ... WAS'NT EXPECTING THAT! ... EXCITED HAD TO SHARE WITH ALL OF YOU! :)
This one is reminiscent of UK police force badges... Makes a great centrepiece for a tangle. I found drawing the rays from the centre helped with the spacing.
A step-by-step guide to drawing this Victorian pattern I came across - either a bloom or a snowflake.
Based on late 17th century French pattern design, discovered in the Provence area. I've developed the steps to reproduce it. Enjoy :)
This tangle pattern was inspired from some of the iron work supporting the benches on Cromer pier. I've included my reference photo in my blog post.

13 February 2011 (A5 size)
In real the "colors" are deeper not so blue-ish grey as they show here...
This original design uses the main motif in an offset pattern - I found it easier to do each motif in turn as shown. Lots of shading opportunities to make individual motifs stand up against the others.
All my tangle patterns can be found at my blog perfectly4med.wordpress.com
Here is the step by step basic flower pattern that I designed & used for almost all of the flowers that I used for this challenge ... all you need is a zig calligraphy pen/marker in your color choice & another that will blend well with that color ... One of the cool things about these pens are that you can touch the tips of any two zig pens together & transfer color from one to another ... If you want to find out more about this you can visit the Kuretake blogspot or enter Kuretake for your search word on youtube & they have some wonderful video's showing some of the things these awesome pens can do ... I have to tell you tho, if you do try color transfer & use it, you will be hooked! ... I used a zig calligraphy pen with color transfer here to show you this pattern. I also used a zig writer pen. :)
X
Here are the steps for my pattern named 'X' (for the x's that join the circles together).
Step 1: start with one circle
Step 2: draw 5 circles around the centre one (don't worry if they are not spaced out evenly as it will still look fine in the end)
Step 3: the fun part - starting from the centre circle, join each of the outer circles with an 'X'. Then add more 'X's by joing the outer circles together. Keep adding more circles in this fashion, depending how big you want your pattern to grow.
Step 4: This is where anything goes- start filling in the 'X's' (the possibilities are endless). I then drew lines inside the spaces - you could also fill the spaces in if you wanted to.
Now, I haven't seen this pattern before, but if you have seen it, please let me know so I can give them credit.
For now I am claiming it as my own :)

Thank you for looking - I hope you like it and get to use it - I would love to see what other's come up with!
page from a vintage book- author Patience Strong (if you wanted to know)
I am thinking of selling these. What do you think?
And would you want it to be able to frame it (so leave it as paper)
or I was thinking of laminating, especially with the poems, because there is a just as beautiful one of the other side.
Would love your thoughts.
8 X 5 & 3/4 ... Prisma markers, prisma colored pencils , 0.1 Helix pens & white & gold jellyroll pens ... Going just a wee bit crazy in this cottage ... waiting for snow tonite & tomarrow ... AGAIN! ... But it does look beautiful when I look outside! :) A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE COMMENTED BELOW, LOVE TO SEE YOUR COMMENTS AND APPRECIATE THEM SO VERY MUCH! ... NOW I"M OFF TO COMMENT ON SOME OF YOUR WORK! ..... CAROLYN :)
Based on late 17th century French pattern design, discovered in Provence region - hence the name. I've developed the steps to reproduce it. Enjoy :)
This tangle pattern is named after the stretch of the River Soar that runs through Leicester. The embankment was renovated some years ago, and incorporated new railings containing this pattern. I've included my photo of them in my blog post. I also declare this to be my 50th tangle pattern!

Another Art Nouveau inspired tangle pattern. It helps to turn the page round to do the 'top' layer. Keep your corners curved and your arches asymmetrical.
All my tangle patterns are now available at my blog perfectly4med.wordpress.com
Another original design - squares, circles and diamonds somehow combine into this repeating pattern.
What happens when you mix straight and curved lines late at night? This is the result.
All my tangle patterns, and five others unpublished here, are available on my blog, perfectly4med.wordpress.com.
I did the center piece awhile back, stuck her in the pages of one of my books & just refound her ... decided to use her after I saw one of Line lovers (Marilyn's) pieces that reminded me of this, so I looked & found it, thanks Marilyn! ... Decided to do a border around her, did'nt mean to get this carried away, half way thru I was saying to myself " what were you thinking?! " ... My thumb is still swelled & not bending to well after all the cards I did at Christmas, 96 of them all handrawn & colored & embellished with Stardust! Like having a Zentangle" hang-over "in my hand! ... Has been a nice start to 2012 tho, hoping you are all having a great start too! :)
Done on 5.5x8.5 water color paper, with Faber Castell drawing pencil ... This needs some color badly! ... When I started this piece, I thought I would do a copper pipe wrapped around another one, the smaller one being very ornately etched ... when I finished that portion of the piece, it looks like a tangled garter snake to me, I even put a screw at the front of the pipe to make it look connected, but it got lost in the pattern, ... have'nt done water drops in yrs. ( that explains those! ) ... I like certain parts of it, but don't like it at all as a whole ... hope the color helps, but will have to put it on the back burner for now ... have'nt even started my challenge for this week yet! ... and tomarrow I'm out of town on business so hope I make it by Sat. :)
Made for a very dear colleague/friend, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in January last year. Coming Monday her ovaries and oviducts will be surgical removed on her own request. Just as a precaution measurement(?). My thoughts are with her! 12 February 2011

Bit of a ying yang thing going on with this one. Starting with the simple 'S', join the top of one to the bottom of the S on the row below - it helps if the curves finish on the right angle (about 60 degrees?). Shading a bit tricky, but choose one to fill in and follow the space round.
All my tangle patterns are also available at my blog perfectly4med.wordpress.com
My adaptation of a southwestern American Indian design. The lone motif has been repeated to make the pattern, and I rather like all the geometric shapes you start to see, from the crosses to the circles and the stars :)
8 1/2 X 11 On Black cardstock ... used a variety of Kuretake pens, metallic, chisel tip, writers, calligraphy, millineum , & pastel chalk pens on top of & under Derwent colored & metallic colored pencils ... I love the way these products work together & compliment each other, so much fun to play & experiment with ... learn something new everytime I use them! :)
