Zendala Template #2, by Geneviève Crabe @ Tangleharmony.com.

I started this about 5 days ago. For my birthday my fiance hired me a motorbike, so that we could go out for the day. I took my CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) back in April and haven't ridden anything since. When we went to collect it I'd completely forgotten how to safely take it off its main stand and, being on a slight downward incline, managed to lose control of it and got pulled down with it, knocking over two other bikes into the bargain! Domino affect....

Anyhoo I've ripped my right shoulder muscles and can only lift my arm about an inch away from the vertical unassisted: makes any arty work a tad tricky.

Suffice to say I still got my day out on the bike and last night finally managed to finish the above.

It was gonna get called this anyway, but actually the betweed, florz (variation) and yincut I think give a pretty good representation of what my shoulder muscles are probably looking like right now. Hey ho

;@) xx Fi

A new series of mini-Zendalas (Canson 220gsm paper, 3" circles punched out with an Artemio punch). Tangles: Matuvu (a new one I have not yet prepared a step-out for), Lampions. Coloured with a Koh-I-Noor Magic 3400 pencil.

Using the tangle Molygon using the video from the Mosaic App. This one is on a tan Zendala.

these sneaky snakes didnt show themselves until all was done and dusted.

This was fun to do. I am very much one for symmetry and repeating of patterns. Makes me feel very 'zen' looking at it.

I am enjoying the less structured approach

This was fun to try ~a whole new process!

This template screamed 'Valentine' to me :) - my 3rd work using this template

Tangles: Zen Bud - one of my favourite tangles, Eyelet and Ribbon

Thank you for looking - your comments are welcome :))

Check out this post on my blog: ift.tt/2bSjJOK

Deflour is my newest tangle. I have it colored in the end one because in the two ZT's I have done it in, Zendala Delight and Jaws 1 or 2, can't remember right now which one. LOL Anyway, it is an easy flower to do and coloring it brings it out, and variations are probably endles. I added leaves to mine but you don't have to.

Would look good as a border with a bunch of the flowers.

One of the recent Zendala Dares was to use tangles with names that spell H.E.A.T. (or H.O.T.). Great idea! For Brussels, too, has been hit by a heat wave. I used Huggins, Eylet&Ribbon, Archer and Tipple.

Asian theme in blue - thanks for stopping by :)

Another Zendala on a page from the children's colouring book Pocket Mandalas :) the templates have hard black lines, so these Zendalas become rather stark&dark.

Zendala Dare #11 at the Bright Owl

Zendala on tan paper with Punzel and flow, using Inktense watercolor pencils for Color.

Inspired by so many of the Zendalas already posted here! Betweed and Flux are two of my favorites.

For the Bright Owl Zendala Dare this week.

Skye (Margaret Bremner), Ix and Fescu

This is my first coloured Zendala.

I used Flux because I wanted a tangle that I was confident in drawing (as I am not confident about using colours as it is), and also one that has a fluid base shape.

My good friend who lives in NC, USA, has been telling me about her air conditioning woes and we've been discussing A/C capacitors a LOT the past week as we are also having very HOT weather in Singapore.

I also happen to recall bits of childhood spent watching Back to the Future....... So... There you go, here's my very own Flux Capacitor.

P.S. The friend in NC is very tickled that her A/C has inspired a zendala.

dragonfly and flowers

I drew this Mandala on a blue grey paper which was hard to color. It changes all the hues. But I used the Challange 51 tangle - Fife around the outer edges. This is on 8" square paper. The Fife is so fine I had to use a magniging glass to color the black background.

Finished!

check out the 5 previous pics for the steps I took to complete this mandala

Using instructions found here: www.marthastewart.com/276331/how-to-make-paper-snowflakes...

I made a paper snowflake and traced the shapes onto a 6"x6" tile. I then tangled it!

Thanks for looking!

Zendala with Tombow Markers

It took me a while to finish this. I wasn't that thrilled with my start, so wasn't very eager to finish it, however, not one to leave something unfinished, I kept going and this is the result. You can't really tell by this pic, but I have used bottle green, bright pink in the middle section and black for the flowers.

Here is a Zendala I made using one of the Zendala Stencils I purchased from Gueneviere, but I decided to make it off-center to make it interesting. I'm using this design for my Weekly Challenge 134 since I used the new tangle Beamz.

#Zendalamoments3

Drawn with black Micron pen and Gelly Roll Stardust.

This was done on a 3 1/2" tile with a 005 pen. It looks brown in the picture but it was definitely done in black!

thanks to The Bright Owl for the template

a couple of comments on my recent pieces prompted me to think "what if the basic templates where filled in differently?"

So here you go. Print it out, tangle it up, post it and show us.

Have fun!!

here's what I did

I modified the template by adding triangles around the center to create a star.
