Another mini-Zendala (3' punched circle, watercolour/multimedia paper 240gsm). Can't get enough of these lately... Spiral string from Diva's challenge #160. Yet unshaded, and might stay this way :)
So you know when you start working on something and you've invested a fair bit of time and then you have, as molossus says on her Galatea instructions, an "Oh, Poodle!" moment? This happened to me when I realised that this template had an odd number of segments, not even as I'd started out with. Oh Poodle!
In the Zentangle spirit of going with it, I ended up adding the zipper section (and will admit to a tiny bit of post production to remove template lines that impacted on the zipper effect) to try and compensate. I actually find this piece really humorous every time I look at it because of its quirks!
This Zendala uses one of Geneviève Crabe's templates (#5).
Used a plate to trace the circle and my left and right hands and drew strands throughout the circle.
This is the first time I have participated in the Zendala dare. I have only done a few zendala's and really like how they turn out so I thought I'd give this a try. We had to use tangles beginning with H.O.T. or H.E.A.T. I used the flower from Henna Drum, Efilys, Afterglo, and Trimonds.

This week we were asked to look back at any templates that just didn't work for us . . . either the template itself or the finished zendala. Erin called it "the devil that you know".
I didn't have to look hard to find one! I've been playing catchup doing the dares that i missed and DARE #15 was a nightmare for me!! This pic shows the unfinished zendala (upper right) that I finally just gave up on. It also shows the new improved zendala that I did today. Thanks, Erin, for challenging me!! I don't know what it was about the template that I found so difficult on my previous attempts but today it finally worked!! I'll post today's zendala by itself too so that you can see it.
Thanks for looking!!
I seem to be hooked on cutting out snowflakes and converting them into Zendalas, thanks to Erin at The Bright Owl. Thanks for viewing. Your comments are appreciated.
