My first Zendala!! I have been looking at these and not having any inspiration. I decided today was the day!!

Very excited to be able to finish something I am happy with without a pile of rejects!!

My first try at freehand Zendalas on tiles. Preping for a Zendala class coming up in May.

Now should I shade color or leave them I can't decide.

Zentangle, my first go. I sat and doodled from my head, and a couple of hours later got this :D I actually found it a fantastic way to deal with pain, which was very bad that day.

My FB friends Techla and Darcy got me into this, after me seeing lots of lampworkers doing them and asking "okay what the hell is this zentangling?". I think I could get addicted. I was a doodler anyway and this gives me an excuse :D

mixed media on paper zendala

7x7in lokta paper, Micron 05. Almost a Spirograph effect on this one - it was a compass I used, just wrong calculations... Had to blacken out the bits I did not like, and then I decided to add colour (Sakura Metallic) :)

Completed 4/29/2012. This is my second entry (week of Jan 2-8) in the calendar book "Tangle Journal 2012" by Geneviève Crabe. Tangles used in this piece include the following: Afterglow, Peacock Leaf, Daigles, swirled Jellyfish connected via Cadent, partial Thlychum with line waves, partial Shadduck as line arcs, scattered tipped-triangles, Flora, Marnerana, Macro Corduroy (stem), Striping (stamen), line arcs mirroring Jellyfish swirls (background), and Buttercup (circumference). Used black Sakura Pigma Micron pens and graphite pencil for shading.

Using fine line Sharpies, this piece is drawn in a Zentangle type book called Between the Lines.

Loving this one -- though feels "tight". Regardless, it is what it is.

This one was 'inspired' by Hundertwassers' painting :' Singing bird in tree".

Done with Staedler pen, Neocolor crayons & colored pencil & gold gelpen.

Hmmm, always difficult to catch the colors in a photo...

*Thnks all, for your lovely comments; it made me very happy!*
