I love Sandy Bartholomew's tangle "Punch" but I've found it difficult to achieve on a smaller scale without making a big mess. I wondered if it might work with this template - and I was rather pleased with the result. Thanks for looking!

I was also looking for a "knot" tangle for my cords but I couldn't find one anywhere, so I tied a knot in a piece of string and copied it. If this is a new tangle I'd love to submit it to Tanglepatterns.com, but if anybody has seen it before could you please let me know before I make an idiot of myself? Thanks!

Thanks to The Bright Owl for the template.

Zendala template - Challenge #25

I used a bit of serendipity on the outer border, starting with squiggles at the peaks, and then drawing lines from the squiggles to the lower points. This one was alot of fun!

Zendala Dare # 12 from the Bright Owl Blog.

My first Zendala Dare (posted by Erin at Bright Owl around Thanksgiving, but I just started "doing the Dares" around Christmas). I did the rainbow colors in honor of my partner and I setting the date of May 3, 2014 for our wedding, when we will finally be legally married after 22 years together, thanks to the Supreme Court!

I found this art form by exident on the net. I had to try it straight away. I think to make really nice pictures you need a lot of practice. This is my first trial, so I think it´s quite ok. I made it watching this video:

I did say to myself leave the white space - but somehow I couldn't stop adding more! thanks for looking

Finished mandala, on 12x12 card stock, pen & ink and coloured pencil.

Erin at the Bright Owl dared us to go back and revisit a Zendala that either gave us trouble or that we didn't particularly like. I chose Zendala Dare #4. I did several versions of this Zendala but the one I was the most displeased with was: www.flickr.com/photos/80288200@N03/7459962244/in/set-7215...

The original was drawn in June 2012, I think my shading and highlighting has definitely improved. The original seems flat and sparce. I'm not sure I'm 100 percent pleased with the redo, but I think it's far superior to the original. Thanks for viewing. I appreciate your comments.

I did this one on white Cardstock with micron pens. For some reason, when I snap pics they have a brown tint. Go figure!

Loved this template!

Thanks for visiting.

Here is the completed Zendala . . . I also posted a pic of it beside the previous attempt (one of MANY) that I finally just gave up on until Erin challenged me to rework it. Thanks, Erin!!

This week we were asked to look back at any templates that just didn't work for us . . . either the template itself or the finished zendala. Erin called it "the devil that you know".

I didn't have to look hard to find one! I've been playing catchup doing the dares that i missed and DARE #15 was a nightmare for me!! I tried it several times and finally gave up. Today, though, I reworked it and liked the result.

Thanks for looking!!

Just playing around a bit and trying out some patterns.

Patterns: Mooka, Tipple, Btl Joos (SSB) Afterglo (Carole Ohl) (and Web (Suzanne McNeill)

I wanted to do a zendala to utilize my new tangle pattern 'Wix'. Zendala are so relaxing and fun. I need to do more of them!

A new series of mini-Zendalas (Canson 220gsm paper, 3" circles punched out with an Artemio punch). Tangles: Showgirl, LaCePa variation, Quipple.

I'm running a little behind with the Dares - For this one we were asked to do something that we don't usually do. That's not as easy as you may think :)

I usually print off all 3 sizes of the templates, then I usually do all 3. This time I've only used the large template. I've also used a couple of patterns that I've not used before, they are Boomerang (variation) and Loblolly.
