Many people will be familiar with the curvy staircase recently installed at the front of the Wellcome Collection near Euston, but this more angular version sits in the middle of the building and is MUCH bigger - going the entire height of the building and into the blueness of the basement.

There are several parts to Lumsdale Falls - the cascade at the top precedes a large fall, then this babbling downhill section before another BIG fall before the water settles down at the bottom of the valley. All weaves through an old derelict mill, so much to explore around there.

The London skyline is nothing but eclectic. St Pauls is brightly lit and dominating numerous other older buildings in the Blackfriars area, while the modern skyscrapers are starting to dominate the picture to the right as we move towards the City. Blackfriars Road Bridge is illuminated with riverboats blurring beneath, and the modern Blackfriars Station is on the next bridge across. Lots to take in.

Leaving the park and the sun setting, a quick turn-back and caught a nice shot of the Crossroards area. The Sorcerer's Hat is disappearing fast, soon it will not block the view any more of the Chinese Theater - hopefully before we leave.

For the tenth year Megan and I got a Christmas Card photo, the other 9 can all be seen at www.eatshootfly.com/ChristmasCard. Hope you all had a brilliant Christmas and looking forward to more photo exploits in 2020!
Perfect for Halloween, we ventured to an abandoned mortuary to do some night-time urbex shooting with Marmalade (www.urbexmodel.com) and in amongst the decay were these freezers in a mortuary with the doors open. Shot with an LED light stick and no other light source, it was dark and creepy for sure in there.

New Broadcasting House is rather impressive, the Peel Wing is to the right of shot and home to Radio 1. I arrived here hoping for rain because I was hoping for some good reflections on the slick pavement. All the forecasts were for rain, the reality was somewhat cloudy - and dry.

First stop on my journey north to Gleneagles and the Runcorn Bridge - an open arch bridge alongside a much older railway bridge. This was also at one point the site of a transporter bridge, now long gone although some of the buildings on this side of the river still exist. First experiments with the Lee filters, mixed results here at best because I hadn't quite figured out how to use them at that point! Also realised just how quick the River Mersey tide comes in, this was basically mudflats 20mins before this picture was taken, I suspect that the fast moving water stopped the reflections from being so sharp. Hey ho.

Disney World has so many little details, so many things that people can miss while bustling from one ride to the other. This is NOT a little detail though - it is the huge domed roof at the entrance to the China Pavilion. Bright colours and artwork adorn the dome, this was a 3-shot HDR image taken by placing the camera on the floor under the dome and hoping nobody walked in and kicked it while the countdown timer ticked down!

Standing at the far end of the underpass beneath V8 near Ashland and spinning wool attempting to make an orb. The graffiti looks good, the sparks and bounces look fantastic - but I'm not sure we ever figured out how to make the orb!

The final stop on my run north, Derwentwater in the Lake District. Not a successful stop this with two waterfalls being almost dry and then me forgetting that the sun would dip below those hills earlier than it would the surface-level horizon. With the time available this shot came out better than could have been expected though.

Festival of the Lion King, always a good show. Apparently rated the top show on Disney property, but I still think Nemo is better. The show we saw was shorter than before as the tumble monkeys were missing. Whether that was a temporary or permanent change I do not know.

This is the Cinderella Water Fountain in Fantasyland, just another of the little details that are so easy to overlook. The water fountains are all low down so you kneel before the princess while taking a drink. Lovely blue skies to get an up-close shadow of Cinderella with a bokeh background.

Swanbourne Station has been silent since 1968, little changed since the last train passed through and the station house is now privately owned. The platforms are now grassy but the track through the old station is remarkably intact - albeit unsuitable for a train these days. Only one of the two lines remains here, and this will soon be relaid as the Bletchley to Oxford line is planned to reopen in 2019. There will be no Swanbourne Station though, and talking to the residents there it appears the platforms will disappear too - I didn't ask about the house.

Dad has been working on his model railway now for 2-3 years, and it is starting to look rather good. Will definitely be looking at getting some more shots when the lights are finished and the scenery, especially around the station area.
