A little help on the timings from the Photographer's Ephemeris for this shot - I waited until the sun shone perfectly on the back of the Palau de les Arts - look at the shadow at the bottom! I've never done mono like this before, think I need to experiment more to get this right - especially under the "feather", so expect a redux of this at some point.

I don't do sunrise. I do it grudgingly at work, that's it. So the idea of sunrise being 07:30 in Spain was appealing, especially when the hotel was only a 2min walk from the City of the Arts and Sciences. No reflections again after the fail at Hemisferic the previous evening, but still a pleasing shot none-the-less.

A rare opportunity to look down from the seventh floor into the main library thanks to a very helpful library team member (Dean Othman) who got us access to the closed lift area balcony. The glass lift hasn't worked for ages, would be great to see it back in operation in this most sparkling of buildings.

Woefully behind on uploads to Flickr lately, so catching up over the next few days with a series of posts. First up are my favourite images from an impromptu shoot with the sublime Sinopa Rin on the South Coast. Had a great location with a balcony overlooking a cricket stadium, would have been a shame to waste the opportunity!

Dr Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Orlando is an impressive modern theatre, sitting across from City Hall. I've got a variety of "normal" shots of the building, which I still haven't processed as time gets away from me on the Florida holiday, but it's the experimental shots with the fish-eye lens on the Fuji which I think have worked best! Crazy doesn't quite cover it...!

This is the Life Sciences Building at University of Bristol, a modern building opened in 2014 with an impressive wave structure all along one side. Directly behind this shot are the much older buildings of the University complex, and the juxtaposition of new and old looked rather impressive in the evening light.

A trip to the coast to experiment some more with the ND filters, and find something rocky to boot. Sunshine today, a lovely day - but rather more restrictive on the long exposures than I'd have liked. Early morning and cloud would have been better!

One of my favourite model evenings I ever organised at Buckingham Camera Club. Take a graffiti-covered tunnel, one awesome model and a variety of different fire poses. This was shot with available light on the model, although we had two small continuous lights with gels behind Em to highlight the wall slightly.

The final morning, and we've checked out of the hotel ready for our return to the UK. I took the opportunity for one last sunrise shot - this time of the Palau de les Arts, with the road bridge in front. The reflection wasn't quite as I'd planned, once again just enough breeze to whip up the water around the City of Arts and Sciences, but it wasn't too bad.

A clsoe-up of the upper levels of the Blavatnik Building, which the staff were kind enough to allow us in the lobby area when we pitched up completely unanounced. Certainly an interesting place, we will be back fro an open day sometime hopefully.

Lucky enough to be given permission to wander the newly-redeveloped Headington Campus of Oxford Brookes University, and this is one of the most striking parts within the main John Henry Brookes Building.
Resounding is designed by Annie Cattrell and is suspended in the atrium, surrounded by the library on several floors. The sculpture is made up of over 300 coloured droplets suspended by 425 cables. At some angles the installation is almost invisible, at other angles it is a striking piece of work.
