I used several filters and finished with infrared film with grain for more impact. I thought the grain would look more like worry than if it was soft focus.
Somewhat scarily, the water level in this simmering pool was higher than the level of the ground on which we stood.
I took this picture with my friend on the top of Tahoe Donner. The way the sun catches the ice crystals truly makes the photo. And the orange in the sunrise gives spectacular color.

I was told that he was self conscious. Perhaps I like him so much because all mine are at least as broken as he appears to be. He wears it on his face and Chloe, well chloe makes herself forget and becomes lost in books. every day Cain's name is on her lips and she can't remember why. It is too painful to try. Perhaps it is easier to wear your pain upon your face then allow it to unfurl in your mind. They are both just as broken, and he'll never know it.

I bought this little guy at World Market. It's called a "Guatemalan worry people". I'll just copy down the description it says on the back, it'll say it better than I can:
"An old story tells that when the Maya Indians of Guatemala had worries, they would tell them to the worry people. At night they would place the worry people under their pillows and when they awoke, the worry people had taken their worries away."
I saw it and had to have it. I hang it above my head to remind myself not to stress too much. I was a mess in high school that survived off 2-4 hours of sleep a night, and became really unhealthy because of it. One of the most important things I've learned from college is to relax, there ARE actually things more important than school. And you know what? I think this little guy is working.
