I started to worry, but had read that young owlets can make their way back up using their beak and talons (and a lot of flapping). The Female parent did have a confused look when she returned but eventually the owlet clambered back into the nest hole.
The biggest of the LaSalle County cold air funnels on 7/20 really began to take on an impressive shape when it was at it's largest, as can be seen here. At one point, it looked as if it would touch town, it was so close. While it was roping out, it came the closest to touching, probably as close as 300 feet. It still remained in a rope stage when it became obscured by a rain curtain. Despite what it looks like here, no sirens went off, and it was never much of a threat.

Surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the Poconos, is The Hooven Mercantile Co. building in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. It was established in Mauch Chunk in 1882 as a distributor of coffee, tea and spices and renovated in 1984 and most recently in 2016.
Today, the Hooven Mercantile building is a museum and the home of the Big Creek Vineyard. The original scale is built into the floor behind the winery’s bar. and is located in the heart of the historic district in downtown Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.
