Black and white woman expressive portrait

This is Dana. I worked with her on some volunteer projects. Haven't seen her in a long time so I stuck her in this picture so I can she her again..:)

Still working from home. Kinda lonely but I'm saving a lot of money on gas. Restaurants are really struggling. But, oddly enough, a new one opened up on the east side last weekend. Three of us went there for the grand opening and ordered burgers. They asked how we wanted the meat and we all said medium well. All 3 came out well done..;) We ate them anyway. They had live music. Lots of Rolling Stones songs and Beatles so we didn't really worry about the food. I still don't like paying 14 dollars for a burger. Just seem like a lot to me, but I guess that's the way it is everywhere.

... at the second week of COP26 in Glasgow:

Will all participants finally take the situation of our planet more seriously than their bank balance?

Unfortunately, I have my doubts about this too :-((

I know there is a shortage of insects, which is very worrying, but this only hit home to me after I returned from a 830 mile journey, and there was hardly an insect on the windscreen or bumper...Years ago had to stop after twenty miles to clean them off...I'll let you draw your own conclusions as to why this is happening.

Laowa C-Dreamer 7.5mm F/2

This is the second capture from my recent photowalk at the Olympic stadium in Berlin (for the first image please check my previous upload). It was the first (!!!) proper photowalk in this strange year (the cube berlin in July was more like a short, casual stroll, we were there for just an hour), and the Olympic stadium is ideal for a worry-free, relaxed visit, because that place is huge – well, that's what Olympic stadiums are, aren't they? –, so keeping a safety distance to the other (very few) visitors was super easy. And what was in my bag: the EM5II with the Laowa C-Dreamer 7.5mm F/2 ultrawide angle lens and the M.Zuiko 12-40 F/2.8 Pro Zoom (but I'd used the Laowa for most captures, because in a place like this it almost always can't be wide enough), and, of course, the Ricoh GRIII. The light situation inside the Olympic stadium isn't that easy, so I mostly shot in exposure bracketing mode. Something I wish I'd have figured out how to do it on the Ricoh before my visit there, but I got lovely images with the GRIII as well ;-) I will post images from this visit in a loose sequence – and don't worry, I won't bore you with Olympic stadium images only for the rest of the year, there are still enough nice captures in my archive to ensure variety, and of course I also hope to be able to take more new images this year (apart from MMs) ;-)

So this is a handheld HDR image made from three different exposures. Sharpened in Topaz Sharpen AI (mode "Sharpen"), further HDRified in Aurora HDR and finally LUTified ("Keen") in ON1 for a lighter, more colourful and somewhat breezier look, because just when I took images in that part of the Olympic stadium (at the Marathon Gate) the sun decided to hide behind the beautiful clouds we've had on that day, so the original HDR was a little on the dark side. In ON1 I've also added some detail to the Olympic cauldron – which is the original from the Olympic summer games in 1936.

Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone, stay safe and take care, dear Flickrians!

Have a GREAT day my FRIENDS and hope everyone is alright!!! GOD bless :)

I always wonder about the people that once lived in these now abandoned places. It's sad to see the house empty and falling down but there is a haunting beauty in seeing nature reclaim it. As for the former occupants, I'm sure they have no worries now.

The day lily, in the flower world, symbolizes forgetfulness, but the good kind.....forgetfulness of worries.

Tho I'm pretty sure that if I had only one day to live, I would spend most of it worrying.....

Somehow, all those branches hanging down in the freezing cold remind me of the feeling when you worry about someone and cannot really do anything about it...

I can't resist posting one more photo of Hermosa & Kizzie before switching subjects in my photostream. (Not to worry, we will see more of this cutie!).

This was taken on the same day as my previous post. (I just wish that feed dish was not in the background...).

Well it's been one of those weeks at work where I've felt a little stressed, pressed and needing another 24 hours in each day. I stumbled on this photo from Trentham Gardens last night, reminding me of happy, relaxing times with family a couple of months ago. I reckon I could learn a bit from these dandelions...*bursts into songs from Frozen*!! Looking forward to time off over Easter and hopefully catching up with comments here too :)

Concerned about losing your fighting skills? So distressed about your lost hating powers? Stop worrying! We care about you. Technology can fix this too! We only ask for your index finger print (we'll scan your iris even if you don't allow us... just kidding!).

Look in your favorite app store Health section for this awesome new app and dig.

What a joy to find these Pelargonium blooms still fighting through.in my garden.

They brought a smile to my face, especially as we move from the warm Summer months to the Winter months when everything will shut down before emerging again next year.

Elevator buttons and morning air

Strangers' silence makes me wanna take the stairs

If you were here we'd laugh about their vacant stares

But right now my time is theirs

Seems like there's always someone who disapproves

They'll judge it like they know about me and you and the verdict comes from those with nothing else to do the jury's out, but my choice is you

So don't you worry your pretty little mind. People throw rocks at things that shine and life makes love look hard. The stakes are high, the water's rough..

But this love is ours

You never know what people have up their sleeves

Ghosts from your past gonna jump out at me. Lurking in the shadows with their lip gloss smiles, but I don't care 'cause right now you're mine

And you'll say..

Don't you worry your pretty little mind. People throw rocks at things that shine and life makes love look hard. The stakes are high, the water's rough.. but this love is ours

And it's not theirs to speculate

If it's wrong and your hands are tough but they are where mine belong and I'll fight their doubt and give you faith with this song for you

'Cause I love the gap between your teeth and I love the riddles that you speak and any snide remarks from my father about your tattoos will be ignored. 'Cause my heart is yours

So don't you worry your pretty little mind. People throw rocks at things that shine and life makes love look hard. Don't you worry your pretty little mind. People throw rocks at things that shine

But they can't take what's ours

They can't take what's ours

The stakes are high, the water's rough..

but this love is ours

An enviable condition

...I'll guide your sleigh!!!

There isn't enough room in your mind for both worry and faith. You must decide which one will live there.

More compassion, less judgment.

More blessed, less stressed.

More love, less hate.”
