Sie blühen immer nur wenige Tage und dennoch geht von ihnen eine immense Fazsination aus, und - man muss sie nicht gießen ...
They only bloom for a few days and yet they are fascinating and - don't worry, they don't have to be watered...
Thank you very much for all your visits, faves and
kind comments! Much appreciated!

The thrush, a real climatic compass...
There is no more winter...
In some regions it has not rained for months.
Global warming is worrying.
This year again, I will not have seen migratory birds in my region... and a pity.
So I searched my archives for this fieldfare photo.
Large flocks of Fieldfares arrive in France the main flow usually only arrives in October and November.
Troops of several hundred individuals then swept over the country from the north and east, coming from Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
When the climatic conditions are bad, many thrushes arrive exhausted and then become easy prey for predators such as raptors. In winter, the litorne forms large flocks mixed with other thrushes, notably redwings.
These noisy troops roam the countryside in search of food.
On land, the litorne typically behaves like the other members of the family, often adopting a straight posture and progressing in somewhat clumsy leaps.
Alarmed, she stands almost vertically and peers from all sides. At the approach of a predator, the whole flock takes refuge in a nearby tree where it generally lands facing the wind.

Luke 12:22-27
New International Version
Do Not Worry
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[a]? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
Zack, and it's poppy day again. But today Monday appears in a slightly different light than the last ones (which also applies to the poppies).
Because today my vacation is over and I will try to work through what has been left behind for the last three weeks.
But you shouldn't worry about that. Just enjoy the sight of this poppy field, which glows in the setting sun.
And with that I wish you all a sunny week.
Doch darum sollt Ihr Euch keine Gedanken machen. Geniesst einfach den Anblick dieses Mohnfeldes, welches in der untergenden Sonne erglüht.
Und damit wünsche ich Euch allen eine sonnige Woche.

"Why Worry"
Baby I see this world has made you sad
Some people can be bad
The things they do, the things they say
But baby I'll wipe away those bitter tears
I'll chase away those restless fears
That turn your blue skies into grey
Why worry, there should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now
Baby when I get down I turn to you
And you make sense of what I do
I know it isn't hard to say
But baby just when this world seems mean and cold
Our love comes shining red and gold
And all the rest is by the way
Why worry, there should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now

Κομπολόι - Worry beads or kombolói - is a string of beads manipulated with one or two hands and used to pass time in Greek and Cypriot culture. Unlike the similar prayer beads used in many religious traditions, including the Greek Orthodox komboskini, worry beads have no religious or ceremonial purpose. (source: wikipedia)

Have a GREAT day my FRIENDS and hope everyone is alright!!! GOD bless :)
I always wonder about the people that once lived in these now abandoned places. It's sad to see the house empty and falling down but there is a haunting beauty in seeing nature reclaim it. As for the former occupants, I'm sure they have no worries now.

Have to admit the D700 struggles just a bit with dynamic range in a scene like this -- probably the reason multiple-exposure HDR became popular about 10 years ago, when this generation of cameras was state-of-the-art. No worries, it's still become my favorite camera to shoot with.
I hope all are having a great week.
Good old Peggy's Cove...My favourite spot for an evening drive. I was hoping there would be some clouds, though. This time I was able to use my variable neutral density filter and try some long exposures on the water, though it wasn't quite dark enough, but for once I could use tripod hands free without worrying that the wind would blow it over, so sitting on the rocks at 1C didn't feel nearly as cold as many "warmer" days when I have been there with strong winds blowing.

How much time do we dwell on the past wishing we had done things differently while never knowing if different choices would have made things better or worse in the present or future. In the end, all we really know about is 'now'.

There's not much variety in my garden, but this beautiful robin has bought me so much pleasure during a very worrying time.
Immature ruby throat hummingbird taking a short nap in this unusual cool spell. No worries by Wednesday hot and humid again as we start watching the tropics for hurricanes heading our way.

Metelkova is one of the weirdest places to see in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital. Formerly, the site was the Slovenian headquarter of the Yugoslav National Army. The buildings have been squatted since September 1993 in a declared illegal way, mainly by artists, activists and young students. In 2005, Metelkova was declared a national cultural heritage site and the European Cultural Fund attributes financial support. If you like graffiti, weird art, and quirky sculptures then this is the place to head to.
The false deathcap (Amanita citrina) is distinguished from the true deathcap by its bulbous base and smell of raw potatoes. It is an edible species, though not nearly tasty enough to warrant the worry of mistaking it for its notorious cousin. Be very, very sure of your identification skills if you plan to eat it!

There's no point in worrying about things you can't change. Don't put your energy into uncertainty and worry. Spend your energy believing, trusting, manifesting and creating.
Don't worry, I'm not out taking photos. This was taken in the autumn on a visit to Kew Gardens. It's one of the fantastic old Victorian glass houses on site there, of which there are a number. The Palm house that you see here and the Temperate house both date back to the origins of the gardens, having been built in the 1840s. The Temperate house has been refurbished quite recently. The Palm house meanwhile could do with restoration as it's not in the best repair, which does in some ways add to it's charm.
