Describes me to a T! Several times I thought - what would happen if there were an earthquake, or even just a tremor, while we were inside the caverns. Several days later I thought a power failure might be more likely.

Next time I go I'm taking a small flashlight and a bottle of water with me!

For my nephew, Alex — Hang in there, buddy! *hugs*

I give up.

I tried to stand up for myself, and I was made to be the bad guy.

I give in and let myself be walked all over, and give what is wanted, and I am still the bad guy.

I am chastised for my inexperience, but when I beg for help told I am doing fine.

I feel like I am not given a chance to prove what I keep trying to say and DO.

I hear hear hear but have yet to see.

I am not listened to.

My thoughts are not considered, or called ridiculous.

I am not unreasonable. Far from it.

It is okay for me to stand up for myself,

since I don't see anyone else doing it.

I don't know what else to do.

But they can't get rid of me that easily.

They have already won in some ways but they will not win in what they want most.

I am not going to disappear.

I just wish I did not feel so alone, helpless, unloved, and forgotten.

50 Random Facts About Me

#6: I am not jealous of Dave's ex-wife, especially considering how much interaction we (well, he) has with her. I have no worries that he will ever want her back. And while I do not worry about Dave pining away for his ex, I worry that he will decide someone else is better than me, and more worth the effort.

"The borderland between England and Wales has long been a region of contention. Its distinctive geography, wedged roughly between Welsh mountains and English river beds has not only isolated this rural, sparsely populated slice of land, but created a unique identity. Here we find what Garner (1984) calls "Anglo-Welshness," in essence a hybridization with Welsh town names and cultural influence on the English side of the border and the opposite in Wales. As Garner states, this quality is "strongest in genuine border towns like Oswestry, Montgomery, Knighton, Kington, Presteigne and Hay-on-Wye, which survived against the odds and are still not quite sure which side they are on. The same feeling is likely to extend to anyone living west of Shrewsbury, Loeminster, Ludlow or Hereford, because towns like these, far more than the political boundary, marked the beginning of England."

The region is lovely: mountains, moorlands, farms, wooded river valleys, small villages, half-timbered buildings and castles exist side by side. In fact, according to Rowley (1986), the Welsh Marches (as the borders are known) contain the densest concentration of motte-and-bailey castles in Wales and England - not a great surprise, for this was an area of frequent conflict. As early as the Iron Age, disputes occurred on both sides of the borderland. The Romans established forts at Chester, Gloucester and Caerleon along the Marches in an attempt to restrain the rebellious Welsh. And the Anglo-Saxons under the leadership of King Offa of Mercia, built the first barricade along the borders at the end of the 8th century: Offa's Dyke. (It still divides England and Wales.) Yet, it was only with the arrival of the Normans that the Marches were consolidated into a separate entity." www.castlewales.com/march.html

No jet lag worries for the pioneering airline customer, Mayor Abe Pheil or his pilot, Tony Jannus, as their flight from St. Pete to Tampa took just 25 minutes, and was made in broad daylight. But I never tire of admiring the sculpture that celebrates that historic flight of January 1914, and it looks good at night too.

Is he falling or is he recovering?

Is he panicking or is he regrouping?

Is he giving up or is he about to charge?

...the answer lies only within himself.
