Everyday the sun disappears a bit sooner behind the hills and it gets colder every day. And although autumn is my favourite season, its also time for some worries.
Are there enough cookies to last through winter? Where is my woolly hat and scarf? Is the little squirrel ok? Where does Pip keep his secret stash? Why is my Uncle so far ahead with fattening up for winter?
I pondered all these questions as the sun was slowly setting on the horizon. So deep in thought I was that I almost missed my Uncle trying to sneak past me with a cup of hot chocolate and some biscuits, almost I say, for nothing ever sneaks past a ninja sheep!
My Uncle insisted that he was only sneaking as not to disturb my meditation… of course… :-)
Don't worry, I won't make a habit of this, my dedication to the Great Polaroid is still absolute, but I've recently gotten, as birthday presents(October 23rd, still time to send gifts), an iPhone and a Mamiya c330. I'm thinking it'd be just plain rude not to use these gifts, and towards that end, I'll using them both to take photos. Expanding my arsenal, as it were.
And when you're on the top of a giant rock formation, and your polaroid 250 is malfunctioning and you've packed your polaroid 680 too deep in your bag, beneath the gummi bears, even, sometimes you've got to rely on your Jesus Phone to capture the moment.
And, frankly, I'm rather impressed. Expect not a lot, but occasional shots from this super sweet phone. camera. email device. IS THERE ANYTHING IT CAN'T DO?
Worry a little bit every day and in a lifetime you will lose a couple of years. If something is wrong, fix it if you can. But train yourself not to worry. Worry never fixes anything. - Mary Hemingway
"I remember Dawson (No Horse) said, 'Once you say your prayers, don't worry about them. If you worry about them, they'll just fade away.'" --Chuck Ross, LAKOTA
Today I need to remember You are everywhere. I need to remember how much You love me. I need to know, Grandfathers, that You are always listening. Today I need to know how much You care. Today I will remember the advice of the Elders. "Say your prayers and then don't worry - know that the Great One has heard you." It's so much easier to do this, Grandfather, when I feel connected to You. My Creator, allow me this day to feel your presence. Let me walk the path of life today and talk to You many times. Give me faith, my Grandfather.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
From the Movie "Cocktails"
Performed by Bobby McFerrin
Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Lood at me I am happy
Don't worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry call me
I make you happy
Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got not girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy (now).....
There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
But when you worry
You make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Don't worry don't do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don't bring everybody down like this
Don't worry, it will soon past
Whatever it is
Don't worry, be happy
there should be laughter after pain,
there should be sunshine after rain,
these things have always been the same...
Why worry
There should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now
Why worry now
Baby, when I get down I turn to you
And you make sense of what I do...
--Dire Straits
I shot this scene last week when Joey and I were giving Bill McIntosh a tour of the Northern and Central sections of Shenandoah National Park. Joey had crashed in the back seat because we thought the sunset had pretty much been a bit of a dud. So we had decided to pack it in from the overlook we were at and head north. While we were driving the sun had broken through one more time and I raced (within reason since the speed limit is 35mph on the Drive) up to the next overlook so we could catch the last bit of the sun before it turned the sky into a painting.

I hope EVERYONE stays COOL this weekend. The heatwave has hit us here in Virginia. It is already 82 degree at 6am. *YUCK*
My dear friend Cindy knows what a worrier I am,even when I've nothing to worry about, and kindly sent me this gorgeous worry heart! It will take something with very strong powers to stop someone like me worrying, lol, but whenever I look at it it makes me smile!
Thank you for your kindness, my Kiwi friend! xxxx

My wife will go a business trip (to US) in the beginning of April. This is the first time she goes outside by herself and she feels nervous about it so much. I understand her mind and also talk to her about my experiences...
I wish she will not like the lady in the picture and don't feel helpless in the street of US :)

We are waiting at the harbour, sipping grainy Greek coffee in wind-blown, acrid cigarette smoke and listening to the ever present chik-chuk of the flicking worry beads. Agios Nikolaos is only a way station of for us. Our hearts are already in Atlantis.

A day of worry is more exhausting than a week of work....... sits down and drinks tea and then i forgets to worry for a while :)
I'm not a big worrier but I confess I do worry about Zooie. Following his cancer diagnosis I pay attention to anything different I notice about him. He's had an intermittent limp the last couple weeks. I don't see any swelling or a lesion. He's also got a small(about 2 cm), firm, lump under his skin on his neck.
So....Zooie's going to go to the vet this week. I hope everythings okay.
