Probably Carolina Rose but not sure. There used to be many more of these in the Holland Sand Prairie but the dreaded rose chafer beetles have made them pretty uncommon. It was nice to find some untouched. Hope they survive!

The dog captured here was the most inquisitive of the pack, an ideal 'target' for some portrait shots.
Open safari vehicles have one disadvantage for close-up shots, though: you're up too high to get that 'look me in the eyes' perspective.
The dog stayed around long enough to try a different camera position: I managed to squeeze myself almost flat on the floor, shooting from the vehicle's door aperture to get exactly the angle I was hoping for!
Compositionally Challenged week 13 is Wide Open (aperture). f-2.8 is as wide as my bridge camera will go. This was shot at -1 EV because of bright sun.
I bought wild tulip bulbs out of curiosity and discovered a new love. They do not form the cup shape of the more common hybrids and instead open wide the first day of bloom. The flower is large and showy.

Bee and butterfly attracting flower mix with a variety of flower seeds, including Dianthus barbatus, hummingbird sage (salvia spathacea), love-in-a-mist (Nigella damascena), California poppy (eschscholzia californica), common poppy (papaver rhoeas), mallow (malva), blue tansy (phacelia tanacetifolia), calendula, garden cosmos (cosmos bipinnatus), cornflower (centaurea cyanus), sunflower and many more.

Since I’m greedy I wish we had seen more wild elephants, but it was a pleasure to see this one after seeing so many captives saddled for the tourist trade. A wild Asian elephant at Kui Buri National Park, Thailand.
