Wild Horses stampede in the remote Altai Mountains of Mongolia.

This image was shot on an expedition to revisit the very remote valleys in Mongolia, close to the Cinese Border, by the BBC Human Planet documentary team with members of of the original crew. During this expedition we entered valleys previously unvisited by any foreigners before.

Some of my images, including this one, were published worldwide by Lonely Planet in a three part trilogy on Mongolia's Lost Secrets which is still available on www.lonelyplanet.com

They must be expecting some choppy water!

"Suddenly they were there, lean, ghost like shapes in the moonlight with Mickey Mouse ears; wearing their dappled coats of black, tan and gold, like ink spots on blotting paper. Only a new day would reveal their full beauty. Only Man could hope to prevent their extinction"

Half an hour at Skidby Mill, East Yorkshire, UK gave this shot of a cheeky robin that followed us around !

Part of a flock of 22 that I saw gleaning spilled corn kernels in a recently harvested field.

Una abeja chapoteando en la polen! "Estoy seguro que lo dejé aquí!!"

We watched this little dog swimming after a duck it fancied for lunch. The dog was swimming faster until it got close enough and the duck took flight. As it happened we were also on a wild goose chase trying to visit an ancient and beautiful building with its doors locked in Estella, Spain. Thanks for visiting and especially commenting. I will be a bit busy the next few days but normal activity will be resumed. :)

A young male wild boar on a field, Forstenried Forest, Germany

Together with my son I spent a week on my favorit Dutch island called Ameland. Apparently a large population of wild rabbits are living on this island and since they are used to human presence they are relatively easy to approach.

These two wild horses are part of a small herd that roams the very dry desert area in and around Shoshone, California. Shoshone is located near the eastern borders of Death Valley.

Lots of wild asters in full bloom now. Love the mauve shade of these.

I was so lucky to see these guys on my trip to Kruger National park. They say they are probably the most difficult animals to see, and they were walking around our car, sleeping right on the side of the road... An amazing sight!

Beautiful white wild horse taking in the rural country southwestern Colorado landscape. There was a nice heard hanging out by the water hole out in the western countryside.

Nora Wild, born as Lady Elonora Weathley-Huntington of Dorncastle, was one of the most popular girls among the ranks of nobility. Her parents, ambitiously trying to marry her to the pince of Kolbergen, failed to notice young Elonoras growing interest in steam car racing. At the soft age of 19 she fell in love with the successful race car driver Oscar Wilde and shortly after they got married secretly. Being trained by her secret husband, Elonora soon started her own career as a steam car driver. Despite diguising herself and taking up the nickname Nora Wild, her escapades were soon noticed by her parents and the rest of the nobility. Refusing to end her career and unwilling to divorce her husband, she was expelled from the ranks of nobility in a never before seen inofficial trial. The following years Nora spent becoming the most famous steam car driver of the known world. As time went by there was only one opponent left, who, obviously, was her husband Oscar. They faced off in a one to one race in the newly built sky city racing drome. After an almost two hours long, head to head race, both of them were on their final lap. Oscar, having always been known for driving economical, saving as much fuel and tyre profil as possible, was much better off at that point and would have won the race, if his car, never before showing any technical problems, wouldn’t have catched fire shortly before reaching the last turn. Blinded by smoke and flames, Oscar lost control of his vehicle, leaving the track, somersaulting several times and finally crashing into a solid brickwall. His body was later recovered from the wreck, however the cause of his death couldn’t be speified, due to the numerous injuries and severe burnings. Nora however, took over at that exact point, finishing the race in first place. When she was told about her husbands death right on the winner’s podium, she didn’t even stop smiling and continued celebrating her success. After the race was investigated, experts demanded the removal of Nora‘s trophy, since sabotage was suspected. Nora tried everything to keep it and become known as the best race driver ever. Eventually she was allowed to keep the controversial trophy. Still, she rather was known as a saboteur and criminal, blinded by success afterwards. Promotion contracts were refused and her wealth and glory faded with every year. Nora Wild spent the later years of her tragic life, driving around the streets in a small steam cycle, scaring pedestrians and trying to establish herself in the street racing scene. However, she never reached her old status ever again and eventually died after an extreme car chase with the police, crashing her steam cycle into a brick wall after somersaulting several times. This incident was viewed as her divine judgement by most people, since it bore an interesting resemblance to her husbands death. Her death was only marginally mentioned in the newspapers though, since by that time the public interest had shiftet from race car driving onto steam plane races.
