View of John Grantham, Sheriff of Newcastle at the opening of Benwell Billiard Saloon, 28 November 1924 (TWAM ref. DF.GRA/1/1).
These images belong to a series of albums documenting John Grantham’s service to the City of Newcastle upon Tyne as its Sheriff 1924-1925 and its Lord Mayor 1936-1937. John Grantham was born in Blyth in 1877 and became a cinema proprietor in Newcastle. He was elected to the City Council in 1912 and became an alderman in 1932. The albums give us an interesting insight into the duties of Lord Mayor and Sheriff as well as a fascinating picture of the times.
2016 is the 800th anniversary of the creation of Newcastle's Mayoralty and Burgesses.

I was just about to leave Inglewood Bird Sanctuary in Calgary, Alberta, when a highly amusing series of actions happened that I was lucky to photograph despite being quite far away. In this first image in a series of six, an adult female Common Merganser — who has a young barely visible behind her — is warning off a female Mallard swimming by. A female Hooded Merganser that was resting near the two other mergansers is standing up. 1 of 6

When I saw "James Cameron’s Avatar" back in 2009 I immediately wanted to build the helicopters. I had build the first version of the Scorpion a few weeks after the movie was released and hadn’t changed the design since then. Over the holidays I wanted to update the model, but I realised, that it needed a complete overhaul. So I started from scratch and this is the result.
UPDATE: I've added pictures without the stand.
Batty old bird feeding the sky vermin, minutes after this she got all her kit off and took a dip in the Mediterranean...it spoiled sex for me for a good while 😜
When you kill an ant or a small insect, do you ever think he has a whole family waiting for his return? No, you only think for yourself..
All lives matter.

When everything comes together and this is the reflection that I saw in the mirror.......... I had achieved my goal........ I felt femme, happy, content, comfortable and pretty and me.
I have always known I was different and this proves it beyond debate!
UPDATE 21/02/2020
I can really relate to this........ if only

The top half of a portrait of St. Rayon de Soleil.
I think many can understand what I mean when I say that we each have different faces we put on for different people, different occasions. Portraiture for me often involves locating some of those stray faces, the ones we are not super familiar with, and inviting them to come out from the margins.
Similarly, artists create different works for different audiences. The work I made for sites before Instagram is markedly different than the work the instagram audience sees. Instragram seems to ignore my more arty work, and craves bold colors, saturated tones and overtly sexy bodies with a lot of exposed skin. Images that fit this formula generate massively more likes and comments on instgram than anything else I post. And increasingly, people who are looking for that kind of work seek me out to book portrait sessions.
Over the last several months I've set up a subscription site where I have been posting things that are not appropriate for social media, and as this grows more and more popular, I feel my own work shifting to accomodate it. At the moment I feel like I am producing two distinct bodies of work, but paradoxically I've observed that the more free I am in creating nude content, the more clearly I can see the value and shape of my larger portrait project. I find myself longing for images like this one - the uncensored version of which is on my subscription page - which seamlessly bridges the gap between my peculiar take on portraiture and whatevever it is that is happening on my Patreon. I encourage you to come and see for yourself! I'm very proud of the work that is developing there and so happy to have an audience for it.
"Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you.
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I.
But when the trees bow down their heads,
The wind is passing by."
Christina Georgina Rossetti
And when October goes
The same old dream appears
And you are in my arms
To share the happy years
I turn my head away
To hide the helpless tears
Oh how I hate to see October go
I should be over it now I know
It doesn't matter much
How old I grow
I hate to see October go

A small boat harbored at the very far end of the beach at Cirali and Olympos..
In the 11 yrs that I have been here I have never until this past weekend been to this far end of the beach...in the forground many people in jump off these high rocks into the sea along with sea kayaking..
at the base of the Ceneviz castle ruins at Olympos.
Ceneviz Kalesi'nden Olympos......Olimpos'a gelip de Ceneviz Kalesi'ni, Yanartaşı ve ören yerleri görmeden dönmek olmaz.
In the Middle Ages, Venetians, Genoese and Rhodians built two fortresses along the coast, but by the 15th century Olympos had been abandoned. Today the site attracts tourists, not only for the artifacts that can still be found (though fragmentary and widely scattered), but also for its scenic landscapes supporting wild grapevines, flowering oleander, bay trees, figs and pines.

Johnny Cash, the Man in Black, sang "When I hear that whistle blowin', I hang my head and cry" in his hit song "Folsom Prison Blues". I couldn't help but think of that line as well as the entire song while watching a scene like this unfold before me.
Steam Railroading Institute's North Pole Express, led by the Pere Marquette (PM) 1225 approaches the North Pole (Ashley, Michigan) loaded with kids of all ages eager to see Santa.
The Pere Marquette 1225 served as the model for the steam engine in the movie "Polar Express".
If it has been a while since you've heard, or perhaps you've never heard Folsom Prison Blues, see below. I take no credit for posting the video, but consider it a worthy version with lyrics:

Removing the helmet while on duty is prohibited... . Frank would rather ask for forgiveness than permission! Besides, these helmets are too stuffy outdoors. 😊

"The sight of lilac
The chorus of birds
And miles and miles of May"
~ L. Dunsany
_____________________________________________________________
I am happiest when the lilacs bloom.
I found a lilac path today and weaved in and out of it in the sun
taking photograph after photograph, holding the blooms to my face,
gazing at the little flowers up close, getting buzzed around and inspected
by bees, tripping over mounds of dirt and hidden rocks,
blinding myself with the sun as I lost my sense of direction,
smiling, blissfully aware of my happiness, of the warm breeze, of the sound of children
chasing one another in the distance, of the sounds of birds high in the trees.
I am so happy for the miles and miles of May. I am so happy when lilacs bloom.

A place for inspiration... Beautiful Blur
When our photographer in Brazil met Audrey for this gallery created back in 2004, a new definition of beauty for body hair was created. The stunning contrast between Audrey's skin tone, and her arm hair, make each of the strands appear starkly. Soft and flowing, the texture is something to behold.

A single word can brighten the face
of one who knows the value of words.
Ripened in silence, a single word
acquires a great energy for work.
War is cut short by a word,
and a word heals the wounds,
Let a word mature inside yourself.
Withhold the unripened thought.
Know when to speak a word
and when not to speak at all.
A single word turns the universe of hell
into eight paradises.
