Area high school students competed in the inaugural Carl Sandburg College Welding Competition held May 18 in Building G at the Main Campus in Galesburg. Teams from Galesburg, ROWVA, United, Monmouth-Roseville and Galva competed in the event.

Once all the frames were into position, Len then tacked them into place. Ive tried to weld a couple of times and fail miserably. Ive since decided to leave it up to people who know what they are doing!

This is a soldering stand I welded together for my wife for her jewelry making. Kind of crooked, but pretty solid and good enough for the task. Not bad for a first welding project.

Heather was in Mendocino for the Weekend. On saturday I worked on the
recumbant. It is supposed to look more or less like this:

linkrot.)
Madeline also sort of learned how to weld. 'Little C's' I kept telling
her.
Sunday I cleaned the lenses on my old broken welding helmet. With the lense
clear I could stare at the sun, and actually see the tree that framed the sun,
or at least the silhouette of the tree).
All welded up, some slight distortion issues on the main pivot, I'll probably pull it out and do it again
